I applied for Wayne County Community Nursing program 01/2011. I have yet to hear from the college if accepted or not . Has any WCCCD applicants heard back regarding their applications? Everytime I call the Nursing office they tell me letters have not been sent out yet. The stress from waiting is killing me slowly.
Congratulations all! I did not get accepted! I have a 3.78 with a TEAS of 75.6. How did you calculate your score? I did finish all of my prereqs., however not all of my classes were taken a WCCCD, though 15 credit hours were. Those of you not accepted... Is there an alternate list? I heard there was one, it was not mentioned in my we regret to inform you letter.I am very happy for you guys! Congratulations!
Hey I'm sorry you didn't make it ,here are some tips you can do to get in next time ,
1.Average up your Gpa to a minimum 3.8 by taking more courses
2.Focus on reading when taking the teas, don't stay too long on a question
From what I can tell you were close to the cutoff limit. Gpa gpa gpa is #1 , 3.8 or higher gives you a 10 point boost,
Meaning if you had 68 points with a gpa of 3.6 - 3.79 , you would have 78 with a 3.8 or hgiher and that would get you a spot.
The small things also matter so review everything before you apply. If you need help just start a thread here.
Take care
J's mom, i was hoping you get in.. im so sorry to hear that you didn't make it. don't give up and apply again for the next nursing class. you have nothing to lose.. and while you are waiting for the result retake a class that will get your GPA above 3.8. just make sure you apply this june.. you might get in. you never know.. i know a few friend who didn't get into the program but reapplied and got in with the same TEAS and same GPA from the semester they got the sad letter.. i wish you and all those who didnt make it the best of luck and we are hear for advice any time..
Well I got my letter today, and I AM IN!!!! I guess Trenton doesn't take that long to forward mail after all, and thank goodness for that because waiting was hard! Congrats to all! & to those who did not make it, don't give up! Keep trying if this is what you desire to do in life! :redpinkhe
Congratulations to the new nursing class! Good Luck with WCCCD nursing program! Its not an easy ride, but it is verrrrrrrrrry doable! You must dedicate all your time and put in all u got to do well. Remember at WCCCD 75% is passing so aim for it or better. A 74.99% is a failure and you will be be dismissed for remediation.
Dont mean to scare you all but this is good to know beforehand so you know how to play this game right!
Stay focused because this all pays off in the end and Dont give up!
Congrats again!!!
Hey guys, are you guys going to send the acceptance yellowcard by mail or talking it in person. If you guys're going to send it, do we need to put into an envelope? (just to make sure).
My other question I think, was asked by Ali
Where do we find the book that mentioned in preparation for orientation that we need to read, if you guys have any idea please let us know. And previous year nursing students, please let us know what to expect for the first week or month (what to read and how we should get ready for this program). About the study group, I'm in.:)
Thanks all in advance.
Hey as to the acceptance card, im going to drop it off myself at the nursing office tommorrow. Bad idea to mail it in my opinion.
Ill stop off tmrw at the school library and if I find the book ill let you know. I assume we dont have to do anything else (besides medical requirements) until after the Aug 3 orientation?
The problem im having is I need to take some co-reqs in the fall and im afraid by the time I find out my nursing schedule, the classes I need will be filled up.
have a good night

thank you schrellnicole. :) i timed out on some of the math portions of teas. i did get quite a few 100% in some of the other categories. math would have been a breeze with a calc. where time is concerned. congratulations! i am so happy for you and everyone else that got in!
