Positive thoughts for the burnt-out and anxious-

Published

By now it seems we are all in the same boat- either nervous about an application already submitted and waiting for the letter (hurry up already!!!), burning out on the pre-reqs, or questioning our plans

How about a little optimism?

So I am starting this thread to encourage everyone to think (and post) at least one positive thing about one's self and why you CAN do it!

I CAN do this because.....

(I'm focused. My brain is like a sponge- I can cram all of the info in somewhere between old song lyrics and the calculus I'll never use again.)

I'll be a GREAT nurse because.....

(I like a crazy, ever-changing, dynamic workplace where I'm not sitting on my butt all day. Because I like problem-solving. Because I want to be the change I wish to see in the world!)

So come on, let's hear it! Say some great things about yourselves!

GREAT idea! Though I am guilty of adding to the negativity in here, I find myself wishing I could hear more positives about Nursing as a career.

I can do this because: I know I was born to be a L&D nurse, and possibly even a nurse-midwife!

I will be great at this because I am compassionate, observant and diligent!

I like this.

I can do this because I am determined and hopeful.

I will be a great nurse because I will give my best even when I don't feel like it.

(I could pretty much say this about life in general...)

The waiting is hard but the anticipation is sweet!!! I am hoping very much that I get accepted into my program of choice ... just about a month and a half still to wait for notification.

In the mean time, I am really enjoying my classes and my volunteer work. Every time I go to the hospital to volunteer, I feel more sure in this decision to pursue nursing.

Good luck to everyone!

To sleep is the greatest joy

Good idea! I find out sometime this month from all the schools I applied to.

I can do this because I've been working at it for so long!

I'll be a great nurse because I have the compassion for not only the patients but also the knowledge needed is this field.

Specializes in inerested in school nursing, peds, OR.

Yay just what I needed;

I CAN do this because: I am really good at learning and test taking. To learn as much as possible about nursing is my long term goal in life.

I WILL be a GREAT nurse because: I need a job that challenges me, and teaches me everyday.

Good luck everyone!

Wow, I was feeling very down after receiving my rejection letter. Thanks for the idea mrsbacktoschool, I feel so much better!
