  1. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I did not think of searching for the second start. I just registered for class. I am good to go now :)
  2. I was accepted, but learned today that one of my pre-reqs (History) will not transfer because it was awarded in Quarter credits. UTH only accepts semester hours. I am sooooooo devastated. This is my dream nursing school that I've strived for for the last 3 years when I decided to return to school. Has anybody else encountered this issue before? What was your course of action? Did you get waitlisted?
  3. LOL. Of course I'm going to yell at you. You have a senile ostrich (or whatever that is) as your profile pic.
  4. @mac7421 & @tait Thank you so much for your input. This is a really good conversation about the role/debate of spirituality and relationships. However, I'd like to bring it back to my question on hand: WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE NURSING PROFESSION THAT BREAKS UP MARRIAGES? WHY ARE THE DIVORCE RATES SO HIGH AMONG NURSES?
  5. Thank you for sharing. Now I know why you're so crazy about God! :) I understand that men have the tendency to internalize a lot of things. I wish I knew how to internalize things too, sometimes I can't ever shut this mouth up! haha :) If you had to do it differently, what would you do? Would you still have worked as an EMT?
  6. Thank you for sharing. You are extremely courageous beyond belief. I have absolutely no idea how difficult it is to leave a DV relationship, but it sounds like leaving it is just as difficult as staying in one. I applaud your strength. Do you think if you didn't go to nursing school and recognize the mental health issues, would you have been able to leave?
  7. WOW! You and your hubs are definitely a rare breed. :) What other relationship tips can you provide for those with extremely demanding careers (i.e. law enforcement and nursing)? Do you ever find yourself talking about work to your hubs?
  8. I definitely see how this can sound preachy and agree with you. But Mac7421 brings up a good point that spirituality seems to be missing in times of extreme difficulty. @Mac7421 - Can you tell me more about your former relationship? Do you think your profession contributed to the breakup?
  9. Do you think that the nursing profession plays a role in this? Or is it just simply a woman's natural tendency to take care of others?
  10. @Tait LOL! Girl, I think we've all had one of those in our lives at one point in time.
  11. @Blue Roses - I totally agree. I think it is deeply inherent that we (especially females) need someone that will listen to us talk about our day. Whether or not my boyfriend is actively listening is a different story. LOL! I am thankful though, that he is there for me so I could verbally vomit everything about work, school, etc. @LadyFree28 - Can you expand more on avoiding partners who need guidance? Are you talking about avoiding partners that don't have careers yet?

  13. @ladyflyer58 I think akulahawk may have answered your question. But if you would like a more thorough response, it's better that you post your question as a new topic. Thanks :)
  14. @ topaz1100 THanks for sharing! Yes, it is quite frustrating to know that I didn't get in by mere points. You mentioned that you had doubts after receiving your rejection letter. What made you strive on?
  15. akulahawk WOW 8 semesters and 13 applications! You are so strong for hanging in there. 8 consecutive semesters....how many years is that? boricuarn23 I am in the same boat. What branch did you serve? I was a Marine with a Bachelor's degree. I graduated in my first degree with a 2.50 GPA. I worked my gluteals off to bring it up to a cumulative 3.7. I had an awesome job working as a journalist, volunteered at the hospital for a year, worked as a nurse's aide and these schools still didn't want me! Needless to say, I wanted to use my rejection letters as target practice with an M-16. (Although, I'd probably miss because I suck at shooting and proudly sported my "Marksman" badge during my entire military career. LOL!)
