Pomeroy College of Nursing

Published

Hello I have submitted an application to the Evening/Weekend RN program at Pomeroy College of Nursing in Syracuse, NY. I am wondering if anyone else has applied to the program. The program starts Spring 2017 (January) and is 18 months long. I can't wait to receive an admission decision. I look forward to hearing from graduates of the program, current students, and prospective candidates.

I'm so nervous, I just wanna know!!!! I can't stop wondering how I will feel when I get the letter, not knowing what it will say and having to read it multiple times to confirm it says what I think it says when I read it the first time. I can't stop thinking, what kind of envelope does it come in? How does it look? My mind keeps racing with thoughts of moving to Syracuse with my family there to attend the day program and how rigorous the program will be. I think I am filled with a healthy amount of nervousness and fright... lol. I hope so. I just wanna know. Being that the program starts in January, I feel like the more time to prepare the better, even though I feel like if they really didn't like me and was considering me as a candidate, they wouldn't have suggested I consider the day program and then subsequently schedule me for an interview. I remember someone (on here) saying they applied to the day program and I believe they got accepted. If you read this, are you gonna accept the spot? I know you mentioned you considered attended St. Joe's as well.

Nursingbird, I took my cpr a little over a week ago locally . I didn't even know it was offered !

HG16, yes, an email came out on like the 10th about it. It is $60 and is 3 hours. Is that a better price than what you have found? I was thinking that if it was through them that it might be cheaper.

Odd, never got the email . I paid 45 for mine !

Hey ROCTJ,

Just wanted to chime in and tell you the acceptance envelope is just a regular envelope. Not fancy or anything.

Also, if they are interviewing you for a spot in the day program, I think it's probably just a formality. They're most likely going to offer you a spot. :) Don't quote me on this, but I didn't meet anyone on allnurses who had interviews that weren't accepted last January for the day program.

How did the open house go nursingbird?

OMG!! I hope so! Don't get my hopes up... :sarcastic: lol. That's what I've been told from numerous people familiar with the program, I just don't wanna assume because it's so close to January. I've started looking for apartments though and I have already secured a part time job to work on weekends in Syracuse. My fingers are crossed!!

I GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER TODAY!! â˜ºï¸í ½í¹‚í ½í¹ƒ I am so excited but at the same time, nervous that this is all real! See you all in January! If you know of any affordable places to live, please let me know.

#ClassOf2018

are any of my nursing friends going to be at the CPR course tonight?! It would be awesome to meet any of you

Me!!! I'll be there. :angrybird5: Do you want to be my partner for any CPR stuff? I always hate that awkwardness going into something where you don't know anyone and then they ask you to partner up.

so so sorry nursing bird i just am now reading your post! I knew I should have checked the posting before I left that would have been so awesome. I enjoyed the CPR class it was interesting. Definitely nice to even be in that classroom setting again.

No worries, morggadams!! I sat next to a girl that was also just accepted, although she wasn't sure if it was day or evening. I also really liked the class. I thought the instructor was pretty funny and the class went by faster than I thought. It was weird because as I was sitting there, this whole nursing school thing started to feel very very real!

Has anyone heard anything about course registration or email setup? I haven't gotten anything in a while... wanted to make sure it wasn't just me.
