Hello I have submitted an application to the Evening/Weekend RN program at Pomeroy College of Nursing in Syracuse, NY. I am wondering if anyone else has applied to the program. The program starts Spring 2017 (January) and is 18 months long. I can't wait to receive an admission decision. I look forward to hearing from graduates of the program, current students, and prospective candidates.

Hi! I applied to the weekday program... Wish I also applied to the weekend too. I e-mailed and asked if I wanted to apply to that program too, do I have to submit another application. No answer though. However, I had an interview last week for weekday program. Super anxious to hear back!

Hi! Congrats on getting as far as the interview! I hope you get accepted. I just spoke with someone from the College today. My application is "in process." I have to take the placement exam on 9/22 or 9/29 which I am really nervous about. I have a 3.86 GPA but I always do horrible on exams. I hope I get in! This is the best program for me as it offers weekend/evening classes and is in Syracuse. I live in Rochester but was already prepared for the commute to Syracuse as I was interested in Utica College's Accelerated Bachelors in Nursing program but it's double the cost of Pomeroy. When will they be notifying the Weekday program candidates? The deadline for the evening program has been extended to Sept 30 so it would be until late October or early November.

Thanks! I took the placement exam, it wasn't hard. I actually have a degree from St. John Fisher and would have loved to stay in Rochester but I'm from Syracuse. I am interested in Utica's accelerated program and have an application in progress there but I still need to take stats and chemistry for that program. They told me that I should I expect to hear back by the end of September. I applied to St. Joe's evening/weekend program, too.

Hello! I also applied to the weekend/evening program starting January 2017. I just recently graduated from Cayuga Community College with a degree and am so eager and hopeful I get this opportunity. I also am taking my placement test 9/29! Super super nervous I see above @bcgirl47, you had said you took the placement test already. I was just curious how it was set up, I bought the suggested textbook to study, I just do not want to be studying the wrong things. Any other helpful tips from anyone else is awesome. So cool I found this little page, best of luck to everyone!!!!! :)

also, in regards to St.Joe's evening/weekend program would you happen to know the deadline for that program?

The deadline for St Joe's was September 1 for a July start date. As for the TEAS test, you take it at Crouse on the computer. There's reading, math, writing, science and some basic A&P. It is timed, but I finished in an hour. You can move on when you're finished with each section, so you can go at your own pace, however you aren't able to go back and check/change/go over previous questions.

Oh boy! At least they give us 3.5 hrs!! I am a horrible test taker at times so I'm truly hoping I don't struggle on this exam because I need this opportunity! I'm trying to study the book and touch up on what I know!

I'm sure you'll be fine. It's pretty basic and its all multiple choice so that helps!

You also get your test score as soon as you finish, so no waiting around :)

I am glad to hear that you get your score as soon as you finish. Would you mind sharing your score? On the Pomeroy College website, it says that the average placement exam score is 69% which doesn't seem to difficult to get. Also, is it the TEAS exam of the Kaplan nursing entrance exam? I thought it was the latter. I too am really anxious to get into this program. I've heard mixed reviews about it but most are positive and it would fit perfectly with my work schedule. So far it seems like all of us either have other college degrees or a good amount of college credit under our belt. I wonder if that is a large portion of their applicants this round. I can add when I spoke to someone by the name of Susan today, she was really friendly and happy to answer all of my questions.

Glad to have found you guys!! I also spoke with a Susan when I have called before and she sounded so excited when I had told her I had previously earned a degree. Is there like a minimum grade of a 69? I obviously am going to strive to do better just anxious and nervous. At least we get our scores asap!!
