Pomeroy College of Nursing

Published

Hello I have submitted an application to the Evening/Weekend RN program at Pomeroy College of Nursing in Syracuse, NY. I am wondering if anyone else has applied to the program. The program starts Spring 2017 (January) and is 18 months long. I can't wait to receive an admission decision. I look forward to hearing from graduates of the program, current students, and prospective candidates.

I think I am going to try, yes. I would like to get the tour and see the facilities more before January - maybe so I don't feel so lost when everything starts? It is in the evening so I should be able to make it. It seems like there are a few of us on here that have been accepted into the evening program - If anyone wanted to meet at the open house to say "hi" before classes start, it would be fun! :)

Did you register for the open house nursingbird?

I got invited to an interview! It is this Monday. Can anyone tell me what kind of questions they will ask and how to best prepare for the interview? Thanks in advance!!

Yay! The interview is pretty laid back . Just general questions really. Why you want to be in nursing , why you chose crouse etc. Just be yourself ! ;)

I did register for it yes! I think I want to go and check things out :geek:

How did your interview go today, ROCTJ?

Hello NursingBird,

The interview went great in my opinion! I really enjoyed the fact that it was more conversation based than anything else. She let me know I probably would be more appropriate for the daytime program because I don't have that many science courses completed. I said that would be fine. I could work that out and so I am now being considered for the daytime program starting in January instead of the evening/weekend program. Fingers crossed.

Glad to hear your interview went good ROCTJ! That's great they're considering you for the day program . Anatomy and physiology I & II and micro aren't the easiest of courses so it's good to not take those with the nursing workload . Looking forward to hearing if you get accepted ! Keeping my fingers crossed for you !

Thank you Hg16 for your kind words. To all those who have been accepted, has any of your statuses changed on the online application on Sonis Web? Under disposition, it used to say "In Process" and now, as of 11/16, it says "Moving Forward." Also, I took the placement exam and it shows the date for that but another line under Checklist Items has been added that says Placement exam with no date completed.... Hmmm??? Any thoughts? I am so nervous waiting for the results. I know most people have said they received a letter about a week after their interview so it looks like things move pretty fast after the last requirement, the interview.

Mine only changed when I put my deposit down . That's it. Never changed when I got accepted and still hasn't . If you got an interview , you're in pretty good shape ;)

Fingers crossed! Hopefully I find out soon. I have a thank you card in the mail to Amy, which is who I interviewed with.

Mine didn't change either, until I put the deposit down, and then it just said that it was deposited. Is anyone else doing the CPR class that they are offering on the 30th? I am going to go ahead and take it since my old CPR cert. expired.
