Polk State Spring 2020

Published

Hey everyone, I'm starting this thread for Polk State College Spring 2020 hopefuls. Right now, my total score is 111.15. I'm retaking my TEAS Wednesday (right now my TEAS score is 76) and I'm retaking Algebra summer II for a higher grade. We shall see how it goes...

Hello everyone my name is Tarshonda, and I'm just trying to get a little head start because I'm not planning to apply until Fall 2020. I have saw some of the previous post and know that some of you did not get in last term. I pray you ALL get in. Reading y'alls posts make me so nervous because when I started in 2007 I did not take school serious and my GPA paid for it. I still have to take A&P 1&2 and Micro. Any advice on professors? Have any of you applied to South Florida in Avon Park they have the same requirements. That's my plan to apply to both.Good luck.

I highly recommend Dr. Rizzo for Anatomy and Physiology, he teaches in the Winter Haven Campus.

Thank you MelNog787 very much do he give a study guide

I took MicroBio at HCC as a transient student. Teacher was super easy. I took AP I&II at SFSC.

Hello, everyone!

I’m also a spring 2020 hopeful. I’m supposed to be taking my TEAS for the first time next week. I’ve been studying and took the practice assessment A that they sell on the TEAS official website. I got an 86, but i was wondering if anyone who had taken the assessments and the actual TEAS could compare the difficulty? Would you say that the difficulty level of the actual test is the same or harder than the practice assessment?

I think scored higher on my actual TEAS than I did on both of the practice exams. Good luck!!

Tarshonda- he gives a very thorough test review, which is more than enough!

As far as the TEAS goes, I also scored an 86 on the first Practice Test and an 80 the second Practice Test. I ended up with an 82.7, which is kind of in the middle. I found the real test to be pretty similar, maybe a little harder, but it may have been due to the time limits and nervousness on my part. I think you will do well if you’re scoring an 86 on the practice test. Good luck!

Thank you for the comparison! Congrats on the 82.7. And yes, the nerves due to the time constraint is what I’m most worried about, but hopefully I’ll be able to pull through with a similar score to the practice assessment!

MelNog787 thank you very much. What about Nutrition have you taken that yet? If so which professor? And how was the class?I'm taking A&P I and Nutrition in the Fall.

Two days until applications open up, who’s excited?!

I know now I am! ?

No, I haven’t taken that class yet. Is that the one that they recently added to the curriculum? If so, from what I’ve heard from others who have taken it, it’s a pretty easy class and it can be taken during the summer.

Tomorrow is THE day!! Registration open!! Best of luck everyone!!

When I search the nutrition class for the fall (HUN1201), I don't see it come up. Anyone else having that issue? I may have to call. I'd like to take it in the fall before I HOPEFULLY begin in January.
