Polk State College Fall 2020 Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello ? I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ADN nursing program at Polk State College. I know the application period isnt open until May, but I was wondering if anyone on here was planning to apply and what your points are? Best of luck to everyone!

That’s basically what I am thinking too. Just taking a chance on it and praying for the best. Just scary because I’m ready for this transition.

Cumulative: 2.85 (I know I know, terrible. From previous degree)

PreReq: 3.25

TEAS: 92

I think my points come out to about 126 using their formula thanks to an extra 4 points from the previous bachelors degree.

Good luck everyone. One month till applications open up.

Are you applying for transition or generic?

Generic. My sister went thru transition and said it was nearly impossible without prior healthcare experience.

Do you think they'll widen their acceptance pool due to many people likely not being able to take the TEAS?

I think there will be less applicants for this fall. Many people have faced financial difficulties due to covid and may not be able to not go to nursing school full-time and cut back hours or not work at all. I had 118 points and was accepted last year. Now sitting at 125.

The TEAS is currently available online thru Polk if you still need to take/ retake it.

Yes, wanting to retake my TEAS for a higher score ( I have a 78) but I've heard for transition as long as you have the minimum of 70 thats fine. Also, cant schedule due to Covid

The TEAS is currently being offered online thru Polk State so you can take it at home as long as your computer has a microphone and camera. I took it about a week ago and it wasn't too bad.

Does anyone know where in Passport you would look to confirm that your TEAS score has transferred over?

Specializes in SICU.

WOW!, thanks. I didn’t know that! Just scheduled

Hey everyone I'm currently sitting at 118 points, hopefully thats enough to get me in.

I'm also finished with the additional classes they recommend

TEAS 82%

Good luck guys.

Just retook the TEAS and received an 82.7
