how many ml to administer?

Y'know, simply giving people the answers to their questions just keeps them from learning how to find the answers themselves. What is this person going to do the next time there's a dosage calculation to be done and there's no friendly allnurses member handy to spoonfeed her/him the answer???? :down:

have you taken any math classes? i am pretty good with math. i took calculus i,ii,iii and physics i, ii but sometimes i forget the formula and get stuck with a problem then when someone tells me the answer and shows me what formula they used, then i get it. so some people do learn when the answer is given to them.

op, you can also cross multiply to solve this problem,

20 mg............13 mg

_____ =.......______

2 ml.................x

20 mg x = 26 mg ml (you multiply 13 and 2)

then divide both sides by 20 mg,

20 mg x.............26 mg ml

______......=.... ________

20 mg..................20 mg

x = 1.3 ml (26 / 20)

of course the child's weight was just a distractor.

i would rather have a nurse who confers with another nurse whether her med calculation was correct than the nurse who is afraid to ask and just give me the wrong dose.

so would i, in that situation, but the op wasn't "conferring" about whether her/his calculation was correct -- s/he just posted the question and asked for the answer (and several people jumped right in and gave it).

its not spoon feed. i guess people put their problem when they are not able to solve it. people use their private

tutor when they are not able to solve their learnig ability.............THIS IS NOT SPOON FEED WEBSITE

I PUT MY PROBLEM BECAUSE I DID SOLVE IT AND IT WAS DIFFERENT ANSWER IN REVIEW.

this site is for people. for nurses helping nurses. i have no idea y people wants to own this site.

i have been using this site but i don't see people like this who just don't want to help but wants to discourage them instead of encourageing. people don't use this site get overstressed from this site

people use it get help and encouragement from the wonderful nurses here through their successful stories how hardwork they went through.

who wants to get more strees as tehre their already been too much pressure and stress for passing this exam is?

The thing is we get many people post wanting the answer without giving any indication that they tried to solve or work on it, nothing you gave indicated you had tried

Yep- and I wonder if those who hand the answer over are even asking themselves how best to lead the questioner to their own answers as opposed to the show-off element and the heaps of praise they get from the questioner for giving them the answer.

like what i said, mathematics is different. you can try and try to solve a problem but when you are stuck, you are stuck. i'm sure if i give you a problem in surface integrals of vector fields (calculus iii), you will have a hard time answering it no matter how much you look for answers but if i show the answer and formula and give you a similar problem, you will probably be able to solve the problem. so you can learn by me giving you the answer and the formula.

nursing is different where you have to think critically most of the time and many unpredictable things happen. in math, as long as you know the various formulas you need to know, you are all set. so let's be easy on the op. do you actually believe that the op did not even try to solve this problem and just posted it like that for us to answer?

and you wondered wrong, i did not give the op the answer for "the heaps of praise." this is basic math so nothing special there! if it was an extra credit for my calculus iii exam, yeah i will because it will be difficult.
