when you submitted the application for licensure, you have to complete the requirements within 3 years. Or else, you have to pass an application again.

*passage of NCLEX exam is just one of the requirements...

the ATT is valid for 90 days.

Hello, can anybody in here tell me how long you waited for your eligibility for the state of Illinois? I've completed all the requirements and submitted my application almost 5 months ago. CTS is not responding to my E-mails and when I try to call, all I get is their automated voice message.

Where are you? Which country did you train? If foreign trained then normal waiting time for eligibility is 4-6 months. If trained in the US then usually quicker.

Hi Silver. Thanks for your response. I'm from the Philippines and you helped me sort-out my application. My name was bvx21 but then I lost my account password and my e-mail was spammed that's why I created a new account.

I thought the ATT was vaild for 90 days...I believe for IL...i ahve friends testing there.

The issue is getting ATT as it is recommended that foreign trained nurses wait for eligibility from BON before applying to pearsonvue. I would suggest keep trying to contact BON as you should be hearing something soon. Will move this to the International forum as more to do with application not NCLEX

ATT is valid for 90 days, but that is not the same as getting the letter from the BON that one is eligible to sit for the exam.

You need the elibigibility first, as well as payment to Pearson-Vue before the ATT will be issued.

For the above poster, it does not matter when you sent in your things to the BON/CTS; the issue is when the CES is actually completed. They will not do a thing with your application until they have received that from CGFNS. And that is when you start to count the time, not from when you sent things in.

Best of luck to you.

Hello Guys,

This is somewhat unexpected... I've sent my papers almost five months ago without any response so I asked my brother to call the contact person listed in the Continental Testing Services directory. She told my brother that I'm already eligible and that they wouldn't be sending me anything (I didn't get anything through postal mail or e-mail). She also added that I can go ahead and register with pearsonvue for my ATT. Right now, I'm very confused. Will Pearsonvue ask me to physically present proof of eligibility or do they have a list of those eligible for the exam? :banghead:

I also wonder if the eligibility is still good for a year because right now, I'm not yet done reviewing.

Pearson-Vue will get notification from IL that you have been approved to sit for the exam. They never accept anything from you, it will be sent directly from the BON to them.

You can go ahead and register with Pearson-Vue but be aware that you will have only 90 days from then. If you are not thru with your review, do not register with them for the exam. If you are not ready to test in that 90 days, then you lose all of that money and will have to apply again as well as repay all of the fees.

No, Pearson won't ask for a proof of your eligibility. From what I know, they are the ones who would contact CTS if you are eligible. Hence, after Pearson confirms to CTS that you are eligible, then they will send you your ATT.

Here's how it works..

--you have 3 years (from the date CTS receives your application) to complete your IL Licensure. which means, within 3 years, you have to take and pass your NCLEX.

--The eligibility letter, CTS will send you that letter if you completed all their requirements (CES, Toefl--if needed, Fingerprint card etc) and found eligible.

The letter has has no "expiration" (compared to let's say California, their eligibility letter is valid for a year) BUT you have to remember that your whole application for IL is valid only for 3 years.

---If you are now eligible, you can now register to pearson vue. Then, they will send you your ATT. your ATT is valid only for 90 days..

My advice for you, don't register yet for pearson vue if you are not yet ready to take the NCLEX 90 days from now so they won't send you your ATT. Do you get me? but of course, don't take too long as well since as I've said the whole application process (taking and Passing the test) lasts for 3 years only.

Wow! Thanks Ms. Suzanne and tata. Your posts really made me feel better. Three years then, I suppose I would be NCLEX ready by January, I plan to take NCLEX by then. :D

But one more thing, am I supposed to receive a letter from CTS or not? I talked to my brother again and he told me that the lady he talked to who is working for CTS said they won't send me anything.
