I did not get dizzy once today...usually i get dizzy a few times a day...you see i lost a lot of blood during surgery I needed 4 units infused...three during surgery and one a couple of days later...i also did not need a pain killer again today...my drain is almost definitally coming out tomorrow becuase it has been clamped and there does not seem to be any fluid accumulation...i am so happy

well I am almost totally healed. there is still a tiny bit of swelling of the eyelid and still a little bit of open skin on the right side of my face. they are now haveing me put silver nitrate on it to help it heal.

My surgeon is now starting to discuss the next stage...there is a bit of a bump on the right side of my face which is scar tissue which he wants to remove and he wants to pull the, I believe it called the, canthus. We dont know when it will be, we started discussing it yesterday.

Thanks for the update, Meg! I was wondering how you were doing. I hope this next step goes well for you! Let us know how you are, OK?

Well I had an appointment with my surgeon today. He wants to build up the bones that are right under the eye. The eye is still open and that bone is deficient and he feels that giving me that bone will give that bit of skin (the lower eyelid) will close. He also wants to build up the bone beside that on the side of my face to make me more symetrical. we are planning for sometime in the spring

I'm glad things seem to be going well for you. I must say, I admire your courage through what must be a difficult process. In the long run, I'm sure this experience will serve you well in whatever you do with your life, and of course, if your goal remains nursing, you'll have exceptional insight into what it's like from the other side.

It's ironic, in a way. I think we would all rather see youngsters spared such hardships, but we like to see young people with strong character, and hardship is one of the most effective ways to build character. So even as I'm wishing you could be a spoiled little brat who has everything easy, in another way, I'm so glad you aren't.

My prayers and best wishes are with you, always.
