Please think of me because tomorrow I am going in for surgery. It is at 9 am. Reconstrustion of the right zygomatic arch and debulking of benign tumor in the right orbit. I know it will be ok but I am nervious because I have just switched surgeons.

well...I have been having fluid accumulation in the oprative site...i have been asperated twice and the doc said if it does not stop reaccumulating soon he will have to reinsert a drain, which i had one put in during surgery and it was removed before discharge because it was not really doing anything.
Meg, I sure hope this does the trick for you. How long does he think you'll need to have the drain? Is the pain manageable for you? Keep us posted.
Best wishes,
Michelle
he said the drain would be in probably a week or two.
The pain is managable, both from surgery and from the drain. I havent needed pain killers during the day for 2 days now (and when i did i was only needing half the max perscribed dose)
the drain you get used to...you see this was my 5th surgery and i need a drain after them. this time it was just that the fluid did not stop reaccumulating and the other drain (when i was in the hospital) did nothing. they had not put it in a good possition so it did not drain.
you see the surgery i have is for benign plexiform neurofibroma removal. I have Neurofibromatosis.
