Please help!

I need at least 6 responses today for one of my BSN classes!

What makes you feel empowered as an RN and what do you feel is the biggest issue working against you as a nurse? Thanks in advance!

Kris, I'm going to gently say this so you don't waste your time waiting for responses and can try to get your answers another way. We repeatedly get requests like yours but the members here are not particularly keen to answer these types of questions, particularly when they come as last minute requests. Some here are impostors posing as nurses. Others will give you tongue in cheek answers that, while funny, aren't helpful to you. This assignment was meant to get you to network face to face with nurses. I'm sorry that you are in such a pickle.

Wuzzie, nicely answered!

I try!:saint:

Actually this is a topic for my nursing informatics class and is meant to be a question answered on the internet because the class is based around nursing technology. I placed a question on ANA a few weeks ago without any responses as most of their posts on their website get overlooked. I thought I would have a better response on allnurses, but apparently I was wrong. Thanks for shutting it down before I even had a chance for a response.

Now see, you had every option of giving all of this information upfront

That which makes me feel empowered as an RN is my nuts & bolts education along with years of experience working in various areas of nursing.

The biggest issue against me, I feel, is working against the pencil-necked bureaucrats who like to take potshots from the sidelines and are in control of the method in which I render services.

Welcome to AN.com, KrisCris!

Not this time, Fuzzie Wuzzie!

Thanks anyways guys.

Now see, you had every option of giving all of this information upfront instead of saving it and then smarting off to someone who gave you a respectful response based on the minimal information you initially shared.

OP - this pretty much says it all. Respondents here don't mind helping out, but we don't like the feeling we're just being used. (And then you tell us that we're your second choice!)

Right now, there's someone in the Public Health Room asking quite a few in-depth questions.

But for a truly meaningful response, this is not the place to expect it typed over some screen by whomever.

There's another current post by someone asking for math help for a rather simple ratio & proportion question. It's a basic/fundamental math question that posters here could just easily answer, but the OP doesn't learn anything how to do it. Just wonder what will happen when the complex ones come along.

OP---and, learn to not wait until the last minute for us to help you out. And, yes, I know you are probably overwhelmed with all of your courses/maybe clinicals/life, etc. However, expecting people on this board to bail you out of your situation due to improper planning on your part isn't appropriate nor appreciated. Davey Do was very gracious to respond to your questions, and you might find others who will overlook your rudeness to those who took exception to being asked..

When you are refused what you ask, courtesy in responding goes much better than a tart response. An old adage says:"You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." There is truth to that.

I didn't shut it down YOU did by not giving us the entire story. And I also did not make you wait until the last minute to finish your assignment. When you join a forum like this it's best to get to know the culture before you post snotty responses to well-intended and polite posts otherwise people will be disinclined to help you in the future.

ADMIN REQUEST

If you don't want to respectfully answer the question, please just move on to another thread instead of being rude to someone who just wants your help. I'm sure all of you might be able to remember what it is like to be in nursing school if you try hard enough.

Thank you to the few who took the time to answer and offer help.

Some rude and noncontributory posts have been removed.

To the OP, I am sorry for the treatment you have received here.
