^ months on and i am still no further in getting hold of my transcripts.
I am going with an agency and they have been brilliant but the long and short is I cannot get hold of my transcripts.
My university has lost, destroyed, or done something with all of my records and cannot help me to get any info required. i know i can get my transcripts sent to a board of nursing by the NMC but the NMC will not complete any forms regarding amount of hours, or confirnmation that I have completed nursing courses.
Basically i am applying to vermont BON, but now cannot because my uni cannot fill in the parts of my application regarding hours and the NMC will not either, and even if i was going it alone and was trying to get a CES report done it would be impossible becauase hours have to be filled in by the school and the transcripts have to come direct from my school and they don't have any info at all on my course.
Can anybody help me out please, my agency is beginning to lose patience i feel, and even if they were to drop me (i have no idea if they are going to or not but it has been 6 months with getting no further) I wouldn't be able to get anywhere on my own due to needing to get CES done.
I realise this should probably be on the international forums but as it kind of relates directly to UK training i thought it might be more appropriate here.
Thanks

The NMC provided me with a standard letter listing the hours required for UK training- I trained 22 years ago. I sent them the CGFNS form but I don't think they used it as the 'first' copy did not reach CGFNS , neither has my 'first' copy of verification of registration- hmmmm seems to be a pattern emerging Have spent the last 2 days on the phone chasing!!
I am still waiting for CES report though as the NMC are resending the letter with my training dates on it so that the CGFNS can progress.

Have you tried emailing ALL the top people at your university?? My uni just wouldn't play ball when preparing my transcripts so I went on their website & emailed everyone I could from the Dean down to the head of faculty. I had them within a week!!!
Don't think the agency will lose patience because it's not like there are any visas at the moment anyway!

my transcripts were a nightmare to get as well. they were sent twice to cgfns and ichcp, which is the visa division of cgfns.
i didnt need ces at the time but have applied for it last january and am still waiting, even although they already have 2 copies of my transcripts they wanted them again, and a verification letter from the nmc. which still hasnt been done. now how do all these agencies think that i got my rn over here in the first place. it just seems to be a money making scam, as each board and cgfns want you to pay for things to be duplicated.
thanks everyone
I have armed myself with a list of phone numbers and email contacts and will set to it tomorrow. I am going to see if i can get the NMC to send a copy of my transcripts to my agency or to me, if not I am going to get my school to request the information from he NMC (apparently they can do this if they no longer have it) I am presuming that the NMC will still have all my records of hours etc. even though my university has seen fit to get rid of them. If either myself or the agency can get hold of the transcripts then we can send them to the uni to complete any transcript summaries or further transcripts needed as i believe when it comes to getting the visa screen the documents do have to come dirtect from the Uni.
I am just so cross that everyone is making this so difficult and am actually glad I am with an agency at this point as without their help I would have more than likely given up on it as I wouldn't have known where to turn next. The thng is the more this goes on the ore determined I am to get to the states and will be more dissapointed if i can't go thanks to my Uni.
Do you think i could get the RCN/ lawyers involved as surely this is an infringement of rights, because basically I know i have all the hours required but because oif my uni I cannot prove it and therefore I am basically being told tough you can't move to the USA because we have decided we are going to destroy/lose your documents

I think that is a brilliant idea to get the RCN/lawers involved. I bet someone would find them then.

i had problems getting my transcripts too (back about 5 years ago now) and my old nursing school said that my transcripts were in Wolverhampton on microfich (sp) and that ALL transcripts went there and kept for so many years...I dotn know if this had happened to yours but maybe worth enquiring about just in case.
well i have contacted the NMC this morning and spoke to the lady responsible for doing transcripts. I have to put my requestin writing and she will send any information she has to me, if they have any. I am presuming that they should have something as my uni said they would have sent all my transcripts and records of hours i did to the NMC when I qualified.
I also have spoken to someone in the vice chancellors office who is going to do what she can to locate my transcripts.
I can't believe that i only trained 10 years ago and someone has seen fit to get rid of my records, when people who trained a lot longer before me are having no problems.
I am just really worried now that the uni won't have them, and the NMC won't have them and then that is it, no USA or any other country for that matter and it's as if i don't exist and almost like i have never done my training.
That's good, are they putting your training dates on the letter?? You need to tell NMC to put CGFNS ID and training dates on as well as your PIN- I have had to get them sent 3 times.:trout:
NMC told me some uni's only archive for 5 years!!!!!
what is this letter you are referring to AZhopeful? At the moment i have just requested my transcripts or any records they have relating to the hours i did in the various areas. If there are no transcripts should i be asking for some sort of letter that will take place of the transcripts???
Hope you got your return message, was it the EU directive the NMC sent you too?
