Please don't give up, nothing is easy in life. Maybe you need to take one of those refresh courses on the nclex, try to find out.

keep trying...

try using different study devices

1) flash card for the vocabulary

2) make you own version of the test and take it many times

3) make a recording of information and play it while you are sleeping or driving

4) reread daily

5) write different scnerios as essays

Some very skilled nurses had to take the test a few times .Do not give up.

You worked very hard to get through school, so don't give up on your goals so easily. If you want to pass this exam badly enough, you will find the inner strength and discipline to accomplish the feat. Good luck to you, and perhaps the fourth time will be the charm.

Don't give up even though you feel like it. You came to far to give up. If you passed all of your prereq. for nursing school, then you can pass this test.I took all of the prereq. too and they are alot challenging than nursing exams BUT the only difference is critical thinking skills, which can be hard for some people to grasp. When I entered into the RN program, I was totally stunned.I got all A's in science prereq. but I failed most of my nursing tests. Why?Critical thinking.Just relax and don't think too hard about the questions. It will come to you.If it was meant to be then you will pass.Maybe a "higher power" wants you to be something else or is leading you to a different path for some reason.I am a lot older and realize that something always happens for a reason, believe me.:)

Could language be a problem? It sounds as if English may be a second language for you. Would it be possible to study with someone? It may be that you know the information but are misinterpreting the questions and/or answers. Maybe working with someone could help narrow down the problem. It would help the study partner, too. Don't give up just yet if this is what you really want to do. :kiss

What concerns me is your statement that you feel you may not have a right to live...YES YOU DO!! There are many nurses (good ones) that have had to take the exam more than once. There are some horrible ones that passed the first time.

It is an individual decision between you and your Creator if nursing is not your thing, so to speak; prayer and meditation for guidance and signs may have to suffice in order for you to discover that. I, personally don't thing it means that nursing is not your path. Sometimes, we work harder when we get what we want because we went though so much hell to achieve the goal.

As others have suggested, consider an actual review course or tutoring and addressing test anxiety because if you didn't have anxiety before, I am sure it has come, now. If there is a language barrier, ask the school you attended if they offer support in such things. I know that my school asked us to contact them if anyone failed for assistance. Maybe yours may have a similar service.

suzanne's tip #1 says (quoting from what she posted in her sticky):

1. you are to complete the quiz at the end of each and every chapter.

2. do not read the chapter first.

3. if you get 75% or more on the quiz, then go onto the next chapter, if you get less, then read the chapter and your score should now be over 90%.

she is stating to begin reading and answering the questions in each chapter before reading the actual chapter. then, check the answers (honestly). if you have less than 75% correct, then this is stating that you don't have full comprehension of that subject and need to read the entire chapter for clarity. if you then answer the quiz questions at the end of the chapter after reading, you should have over 90%. this way, you are testing your current knowledge first, and then, are re-reading again, and hopefully, you may begin to see more than you did the previous time. make sure that you read the rationales of the answers, even if you get them correct!! make sure that you understand why you are even correct rather than luckily guessing. in other words, don't move on until you understand the previous subject. i wish you the very best of luck!
