has anyone had a experience from dr. fryers nclex-pn review it is for $295. does it realy help.:scrying: or is it waste of money

i have not heard of this review program, so, i can't offer any opinions. but, i would suggest that you sit with a tutor, if at all possible. preferably one that can assess your weaknesses and build on them. it may be test taking anxiety (especially at this point, if you have three exams behind you...the confidence has shut down considerably), reading too much into questions, or maybe the subject matter that you happened to be questioned about. what amazes me is that it is entirely possible that a person may have what it takes to be a nurse, but the pool of questions that is thrown at the person are subects that one is not familiar with, a person can possibly fail.

what nclex seems to require is test taking skills moreso than knowledge. i used kaplan's test taking stragedies for nclex-pn (they have one for rns as well). they showed me ways to answer the questions even if i had no clue of what was actually going on. i had to use that several times when taking nclex because i had some questions that were simply wild. there were at least 3 or 4 questions that i actually resorted to saying "this crazy choice must be what they want to hear because it is too stupid for real life to even consider". then there were others where i used their stragedy to rule out answers. i guess i had it together because i had passed with 85 questions...but, i'll never know for sure. i know how you feel, i would be devastated as well...but try to see if there are any tutors that you can visit, if possible. maybe one on one assistance can help build your test taking skills and your confidence. keep us posted, and the best of luck to you!

Thank you Pagandeva I will look around if i can find a tutor. And may be buy kaplan online review I hope that can help me too. Thanks a lot

Kaplan was very good at teaching me how to answer questions even if I had didn't have a clue. Kaplan teaches how how to eliminate wrong answers 1st - then teaches you how to figure out from there the "right" answer. Their whole point is there is NO WAY to come up with the right answer when you have 4 choices staring you down, so the 1st thing you have to do is get rid of what you know is wrong and go from there.

I used it several times during NS exams as well as on the NCLEX. Their book is $35 or less and to me was great because I could read, re-read, and then read some more. I probably read that book cover to cover 4 times before I tested.
