Thinking about getting into corrections....
I am a new LVN Grad and I am trying to get into Donovan or Norco corrections. Is it easy to get a job with them? Do they even take new grads? Than you for any comments.

Should I be expelled?
Should I be expelled? permalink -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am a rn student. Before my final exam, I went through my books, cd, and notes and I made myself a study guide and I included test questions that I remembered from previous tests along with a whole lot of other info.. There was alot of test questions that I got wrong. I studied that weekend with a friend.I then asked my teacher if I could look at the previous tests to see why I answered those tests questions wrong. She said okay and said that the questions on the final would be different from the previous tests. She was in the room at all times while I was previewing the tests. I made myself a study guide based upon information. While in a study group, I shared my information along with everything else.We all remembered a lot of test questions and they wanted a copy of my notes b/c they were to the pont. I was called into the office and the director and teacher said that one of the students said that I copied down the test. This is not true b/c the teacher was in the room at all times. They said that my notes were in chronilogical order, this was plagerism, and I stated that it would make sense that they were b/c I took down notes from her study guides. They did not believe me and was going to expell me but insted they dropped my grade letter. They said if I do anything else at all, they were going to expel me. I'm I wrong b/c this is how students study. They remember what is on the test and use that for a reference. If I thought it was wrong, why would I pass out my study guide? Please let me know what I should do? Thank you.

Please Help Me
Don't give up even though you feel like it. You came to far to give up. If you passed all of your prereq. for nursing school, then you can pass this test.I took all of the prereq. too and they are alot challenging than nursing exams BUT the only difference is critical thinking skills, which can be hard for some people to grasp. When I entered into the RN program, I was totally stunned.I got all A's in science prereq. but I failed most of my nursing tests. Why?Critical thinking.Just relax and don't think too hard about the questions. It will come to you.If it was meant to be then you will pass.Maybe a "higher power" wants you to be something else or is leading you to a different path for some reason.I am a lot older and realize that something always happens for a reason, believe me.:)

nursing politics?
I am a nursing student, well entering into school in one week , and I read a lot about the politics in nursing among the threads here.I'm just wondering what they are and how to aviod them. Also,I have been reading about how new nurses or nursing students are young and unexperienced and are "know-it-alls", which I saw a lot of during my preq. courses. If I want to ask a question to an expereinced nurses, be honest, do nurses really get annoyed or look down on us like we are weak or stupid?Thank for any feedbacks because I want to get prepared.

need advise
I have a question to ask from one of you nurses, since you have experience. This is quite embarrassing, so thank goodness for this forum.I have never been so confused in any of my other prereq. (math, science, etc.), in fact I have a 3.75 GPA.Well that all changed during my first semester of nursing school.I was soooo confused, frustrated, and just totally out of control.I was answering the sillest questions on my tests and had to do all of my skills twice and had anxiety attacks while doing them, which I never had ever before this. The teacher, who has been a nurse for>30 years said that she thought I had ADHD and that I should quit the course until I get a handle on things.I went to see a psych. and she found that I had OCD and ADHD with anxiety. She put me on Lamactil and Paxil.I feel totally normal now(100%better)but I am starting nursing school again in a few weeks.I am so scared because when I get stressed or nervous, my S/S get worse.Another thing that I am wondering is that perhaps maybe it wasn't my psych. problems that made me confused, maybe I just don't get the critical thinking part of nursing. What I am asking is that, knowing my backgound, does anyone think that medication is really effective in keeping me on track during nursing school?I would appreciate any answers because I know you all went to school for nursing and are very experienced with pts.like me? thank you

sadden by response to my thread
I am sort of new to allnurses.Yesterday I posted a thread just simply asking what the difference is between RN and LVN schooling. The response I got sadden me because I thought everyone took it too personal.I KNOW we are all nurses, obvisouly, but there is a difference. Why is everyone in the medical field so touchy about there job? Everyone acts like they are better than everyone else. When I went to EMT school, the firemen, emt's, and paramedics and nurses thought that they were God.THERE NOT! There is so much competition and pettiness in this profession, it is disgraceful. When I attended nursing school, everyone did not like me.One student took me aside and told me that my problem was that I was too nice.TOO NICE? They also thought that they were better than me because of that.If I was like them, I should have been a snob to them because my husband is a general contractor and makes over $200,000 a year. I don't need to work. The only reason I want to work is because I am tired of staying at home. I don't have kids and I am 40 years old. Everyone, just chill!!!!!Nobody is better then anyone else.We all know are place in the medical field.Get off you high horse and come down to reality!!!! In fact, doctors are a lot nicer than any nurses I found, LVN'S or RN's.They should be acting like snobs and being petty like us because they give the orders. They are a lot smarter than all of us put together and they have the final say so. Just my release for the day

LVN school VS RN school
Last semester I was in my first semester of nursing school. I got into a car accident and had to quit, so that means another three year wait list for me. In the meantime, I got accepted into a lvn school. Is there much difference between rn schooling or lvn schooling? When I was in the RN program, I felt that I was in another planet, I was so confused and stressed out. Do you think LVN school is more, not easier, but less intense? Also, is it true that you have to memorize a lot of meds more than nurses do? Thanks guys
