Plastic Surgery

Published

It seems like Plastic Surgery or procedures like Botox and "Fillers" are becoming quite common-place. Who has an opinion on this?

I have a few issues with this and questions.

1) Can it become addictive ?

The Botox and "Fillers" appear to be so. i.e. (addictive) in the sense that it is not permanent and as the effects fade the person wants/needs/ to have the procedures re-done and it seems like a never-ending cycle.

2) I see more and more younger women having these procedures. What image is being portrayed to their children?

Young girls...teens and pre-teens are exposed to these procedures and I have heard a pre-teen talking about her mother's Botox procedure as casually as if she is discussing the fact that her mother is grocery shopping.

Any comments?

Who's that socialite in NYC who has had deforming plastic surgery repeatedly?

That is hideous! I think even Michael Jackson didn't look that deformed!

Yeah- that poor lady has really messed herself up- and photos of her before she started all of the damage showed her to be fine, even pretty ( I stink at what defines 'pretty' with adults- their attitudes show so much more attractiveness imo). Body dysmorphic disorder sounds so 'vain'....but those folks suffer in their own way - and I can't believe that anybody would go through the hassle of surgery if they really didn't believe they needed THAT much.... not the same as straightening a nose bump or 'basic' boob job (not talking the triple G hubcaps) . :)

I wonder if plastic surgery is like tattoos, you get one and you just want more. I like natural beauty, I dont get the whole, no expression, fake tits, huge lips look. Just looks freaky.

I thought I read somewhere that this woman was wanting to resemble a cat? Or was that some OTHER unfortunate person?

Same unfortunate person...but don't think she went into it looking to resemble a cat - just ended up that way... sutures too tight behind her head or something :D

There is some dude who has had tiger print tattooed to his face, and screws inserted around his nose/mouth where he screws in whiskers...he's ...interesting

Yeah, but do they effect gravitational pull? :D

It's the ones that look like thick shelving units that seem a bit, uh...... excessive :twocents:

I guess you're not a Seinfeld fan.

I may have watched a few excerpts here and there :) I should have watched more, had I known what was to be offered up as "funny" in the future :D
