Pitt Country Hospital in Greenville, NC (Vidant Medical Center) unit reviews

U.S.A. North Carolina

I am trying to decided between a few units at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. I have shadowed on both the MICU and SICU and I have NO idea how to choose!!! Does anyone from PCMH have any experience on or with these units that they can share?

Specializes in Gerontological, cardiac, med-surg, peds.

Emerald, I would advise you to ask to shadow on this unit for a day to get an idea of the stress level, unit dynamics, typical patient load, etc.

I realize that it has been awhile since anyone has posted about PCMH but I was hoping we could revive the thread. I have an interview on the 20th of this month for the New Grad Residency Program 2012 that will begin in March. My interview is with the manager of neurosciences. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what actual floor units this might pertain to. When I spoke with the woman from recruitment services, she told me that this specific manager was interested in interviewing me and there was no mention about any of my areas of interest. I'm not really worried about it because in the economic climate, an opportunity for competent and supportive training will be a blessing.

i too have an interview with neurosience. i was wondering if anyone has worked in neuro or family medicine and how is it?

I am randomly being interviewed for family medicine. I wonder how they select candidates for interviews since I didn't specified what my interests are either.

Hi TheChair1,

Congrats on the interview! However, I am sorry im not able to help you with ( what unit it pertains too). I am assuming it's general neurology.

Wish you the best on your interview!! Like you said with this economy any opportunity is a blessing!!!

You got this!!!:w00t:

Anyone know what nurses do in a family medicine unit?
