Cross roads...Cut Throat... Change
Hi TheChair1, The visit went great. I was offer the position! The process is simple. I am assuming you already had the phone interview and now you have been ask to come down. The next process will be orientation on the unit ( which is fun). If they want you ( you will know that day or in one week). Yes, you will be fine and nerves are bound to occur. God has plans for each and every one of us. Sometimes His plans takes us to places beyond our dreams and imagination! Remember, where we are today wasn't just because of our hard work or determination, but because this is our destiny....( We got through nursing school and constant studying for NCLEX) Now, it is His turn :thankya: BEST WISHES!!!!!!

Help transferring from a specialty
Hi ern1105, First I will go about getting certifications ( Basic Cardiac Life Support and/or Advance Cardiac Life Support). My mentor told me, to make yourself more marketable, get certification. Especially, as a nurse, you need your BCLS. That way when they review your resume, they see you are prepared. Even look into some IV classes. Please don't give up, be presistent, but make sure you have your certification!! Best Wishes

Never worked their before, I went down to shadow the unit and it was beautiful, but very big. Wish you the best!!!! You got this!!!:yelclap:

LPN. or RN
Hello gapeacheykeen, I advise to just go straight for your Bachelor in Nursing and get your RN license. Make sure you aren't going in for nursing just for the money. Because going in for the money, you wouldn't make your first clinical semester. I always tell people to be a CNA for 6 months to get a feel of nursing. I don't regret my path one bit. I made sure I took time to know my reasons for going into nursing. It wasn't the " I love helping people" it was because I enjoy making people feel happy and bring peace to them since they are in a foreign environment. I worked as CNA for 2 years while I was in nursing school. It was very tough, but learned alot. Where I am located in the United States-- Registered Nurse's with a BSN is mandatory in order to get a job. They rarely take LPN's or even RN's with their associate degree anymore in the far east up north. Wish you the best!!!!

Hi Anatasia83, They take care of the nurses and benefits shows as well. Check out their website. Word of advice let them ( once your offer a position) tell you about payment rate for new grads and vacation time:). Wish you the best on your journey:jester:.

Cross roads...Cut Throat... Change
Esme12, The reason I spell say G-d in this fashion is because of what I learned from a fellow classmate in my feminist christian class. They way she explained was " G-d can't just be place in a name, He is Bigger and Awesome." Therefore, by placing a dash in place of the "O" how bigger than life He is and how he just can be bottled up :). G-d is good all the time and thank you for wishing me luck . It has been a long road and I ready for a change : ).

Cross roads...Cut Throat... Change
Hi Brand1017, I am sorry you have to put up the unfairness. Everything is about budget, budget, and budget. What happened to patient safety? Advocacy for nurses and patients?...There are so many new grads and seasoned nurses out here looking for work. They need to give people the opportunity and so hard working nurses such as yourself won't be mandated consistenly. Best Wishes:yeah:
