I have some questions and I am looking for suggestions from fellow members.
Our college has both a pinning and a graduation. Oddly, our pinning is actually BEFORE the graduation (don't ask me why, it's just how they have it set up).
My questions are:
Did you send out separate invitations for both?
Do you know of any websites that does these very special types of inviations that you used and liked?
Thanks!

That's not odd...my school does it exactly the same way :-)

My school does it in that order as well.
As far as invitations, the only people I expect to come to my ADN graduation is my wife, and perhaps my parents if my dad is well enough for the 10 hour drive down here. They are all already invited by word of mouth. Cost = $0.00.
Good luck to you in the future. I enjoy your posts and the way you add a relevant legal aspect to many threads.

It might confuse people if you send out two separate invitations unless they are familiar with the process of graduation/pinning that nurses go through when they finish nursing school.
I personally would send out one custom invitation with the dates/locations/times for each event and maybe put something on there about the fact that people are welcome to attend one or both events. If they have questions they will most likely ask when they RSVP. It's kind of like a wedding, you send out one invitation for both the wedding and the wedding ceremony...
Since my husband and my entire family (except for my mom) all live in the pacific northwest, I will be sending out a photo announcement card when I graduate/pin and that's about it!
I had tossed around the idea of doing a custom/combo announcement as well.
I have a very, very small family and most of them live very far away. No one but my immediate family will probably come. I am also close to 40 years old ...so I did want to do what was appropriate.
I think I may create an announcement, send them before the pinning, and I am sure they will call if they have questions about wanting to come. I don't know how many invitations I will be allowed to have, but I am sure I won't use them all...I plan to give them to others that have larger families.
Thanks for the replies!

I had both pinning & graduation, as well, in that order.
Pinning was a Friday night, graduation was the Saturday morning
We got invitations from our school, only so many were allowed at each ceremony.
It's not that odd to have two ceremonies. Pinning at my school is obviously exclusively for nursing majors, it was a recognition ceremony where we received our pins and some of us received awards.
The following day at graduation, we actually graduated from the college with all members of other majors in the school of human services & the other schools within my college.
I would wait and see if your school gives out invitations and details on how many guests you may have per student before you go inviting people.

My school did the pinning ceremony for the nursing program and then the graduation ceremony for ALL programs. While I wouldn't have missed the pinning ceremony for anything (I attended even though I had n/v all day and was on Phenergan) I had no intentions of attending the graduation ceremony. Just my immediate family attended the pinning ceremony.
After I passed NCLEX I sent out announcements with a pic of me in white w/my cap. I didn't want to jinx anything by sending them out prematurely
