Pima Community College Fall 2019

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi all! Thought I would get a three going for us! Anyone else getting ready to apply? Just waiting for these last prerequisites to finish up and hit my transcript. I should have a 4.0 GPA in my prereqs and on the Hesi have 8 pts in each math and reading, as well as 10 pts for A&P. Plus health-related job experience, a previous degree and volunteer hrs. So I think my points should sit at 94. I'm going to apply for the GCU CEP but also think I will apply to NAU. How about everyone else?

Mine didn't put an exact number either, just that I have worked 34 hours per week since my start date in Jan 2018...

That makes me feel a little bit better. Thank you for sharing. I am kind of a mess worrying about this right now ?

When I talked to Yolanda (nursing admission lady) last semester it was 68 points...

I applied last semester and didn't get in...I improved my score and got more points this round and praaayyyinnng I make it this time..

How many points did you have this round?

So glad I found this page thank you!

With HESI scores, prerequisite gpa, previous degree, work/volunteer, and the new accuplacer reading assessment my self-calculations leave me at a 92.

The thing I am worried about most is that it was a huge hassle/upset to get my employer verification letter and that prevented me from turning in my ADN app any earlier than the deadline date (02/01/19).

I know entrance depends on points but also when you turned in your app. Hopefully, it doesn't take them 6 weeks to get back to us because they will be the longest of my life.

GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS!!

HI! I had a question. What do you mean by work/volunteer? I was told that did not have any impact on points or placement for CEP? Main nursing adviser at GCC told me this.

Honestly, I don't know how it works for the CEP but for the RN associates program at Pima, you do get extra points for work and volunteer hours.

I thought for the CEP you just need to get accepted to Pimas program (by points) and have all your prereqs done.

CEP uses the same rubric. So you definitely get points for working, especially healthcare related or licensed work. And for volunteering as long as it is more than 100 hours within the past 2 years.

GCC being Glendale Community College? They may count things differently than Pima.

This round if I calculated correctly maybe 82?

Last round I forgot to add my CNA licence so I missed two points and got a 66 instead of the 68 I thought I hadd....

So if you don’t get in do they tell you what points the accepted and what they didn’t? Or how many points they calculated for you?

Last round I was pretty upset so I waited to go talk to them... then around November I went in to schedule more HESI tests (to improve my points) and then I talked to someone about my last application and my points...

I have worked really hard just like everyone else...so to feel like I can't even get into the program...it became very discouraging..but after talking to them..it gave me the confidence to reapply..and to keep trying..

So my fingers are crossed.
