Pima CC 2020

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello! I’ve been checking this site for a while hoping someone would start a thread.. and thought why don’t I?

Is anyone else applying to Pima CC nursing program with 2/1 deadline? I’m also applying to ASU CEP program! Just waiting for my degree to post and I’ll be all set to apply! ?

Just checked and still not under my unofficial transcript ? I did send a copy of my unofficial transcript for my bachelors so hopefully they'll count it.

Lol went to school in Vancouver, BC which is actually only a 4 hour drive from where Iive so it didnt really feel "international" ? Mainly went there because it was pretty close and I wanted a fresh start somewhere without knowing anyone previously from high school. It was a fun experience overall! Vancouver isnt too different from Seattle and its gorgeous over there so that was a plus. I'm more excited to transition into a smaller program and experiencing a new part of the states!

All I know is if the degree is through Pima cc it can be on an unofficial transcript but it has to show “awarded” if it says pending they do not accept it sadly. I had to wait till January 17th because of this.

Oh okay, I think as long as it’s on any transcript that you submitted that you were awarded the degree, not just applied for it then you should be fine.

That sounds nice though! I totally get wanting to start fresh, I was a military brat so I moved constantly, but now that I’ve been in Tucson for ~8 years I’m itching for that fresh start again. Hopefully it won’t be too hot yet when you get here! Have you visited before?

I’m at 86 self calculated points. I applied to both Pima ADN and ASU CEP. This is my first time applying. I’ve moved closer to campus to a smaller place and quit my full time “big girl job” and found a part time one with benefits (thankfully!) so I can have enough time for studying and still afford to like...live lol. I tried to set myself up with as few obstacles as possible. I feel pretty good about it!

TBH though, I don’t have any healthcare experience so idk if I’m more nervous that I won’t or that I will get in! I’ve been in and out of school for almost 8 years now because I kept changing my mind for a long time. I always came back to nursing though, so I know it’s the right choice. I know a few people that are applying that a quite a bit younger than me and have healthcare experience, so I feel a little behind and anxious ? but I know that it’s a good program that will adequately prepare me. It’s just hard to shake those feelings haha

With an 86 you will get in trust me!! I don’t see why not ? it’s okay I switched majors too! I won’t graduate until I’m 26 now haha. We got this just study hard ?

Thanks ? and you’re right. We got this!

@Sbrown22 It'll be a very deserving fresh start for everyone! And I've visited Tucson about six time now? Stayed a month and a half between July and August so I've experienced the heat and monsoons ? It's okay to feel anxious! Even with healthcare experience it'll be a whole different beast to tackle. We're all in this together though! ?

@nroyce I sent my transcript from a different university and I've at least received a letter that Pima received it as well from November. Just hasn't been listed on my Pima transcript, but that may be because I'm not transferring credits? It's an "oh well" at this point, just crossing fingers they accept it! Also woo, same boat and I'll be graduating at 26 too as long as things work out ?

I think everyone’s nervous about the program and being a nurse. I have some healthcare experience and I’m still just as nervous. Once we are all in we’ll learn and it’ll be okay.

I won’t graduate until I’m 26 too lol. Assuming I get into the CEP. If not I’ll graduate at 27

Thanks for saying that ? that does make me feel better. We’ll all be newbies but we’ll get through it. I heard from my aunt who’s a nurse that you meet lifelong friends during nursing school since you’re all going through it together and it’s challenging. I’m excited for friends ??

At this point I don’t care. I just wanna be successful! Lol it’s okay that’s still young ?

I was just thinking about this! I haven’t met any friends in college that I‘ve kept in contact with. Most of my high school friends have lost touch or moved away. I really want to meet some friends that’ll stay around for a long time. So once we all are accepted we should get together or something! Meet at Starbucks or somewhere for lunch. I know we are all very busy but it could just be a quick thing. I’m actually planning on throwing a party if I get in.
