Haha no worries! If anything once classes get closer someone may make one or you can start up the group page ? I'll be setting up my physical with a Minute Clinic eventually but I've been kinda lazy in that regard LOL I think its a good time killer to go through the Student Nurse reddit page to see how other people have been doing! Plus its fun to look at what scrubs I want to get and what stethoscope would be best for nursing school. First semester will hopefully be a little more lenient considering we weren't expecting online in the first place! Plus you have me and the other nursing students to back you up in case you ever need help with anything ?

Hopefully the Spring semester we'll be back in class. I'm expecting a Zoom meeting type format for lectures this fall considering that included times for the online classes.

Hey @krystina_lee3 ! Things have been kinda rolling so that's probably why its been a little quiet ? I'll be in B-5! I don't remember if you were doing the CEP program but the ASU classes have been keeping me preoccupied. Have you completed all of the Typhon documents yet? I still have my physical and TB testing to do. I don't know of just a Pima RN one but I know someone made a Pima/ASU CEP cohort FB page.

That was a lot to go over during the meeting! The uniform policies were a lot more strict than I thought they were going to be. Did anyone hear anything about the use of digital watches? They said as long as they have a second hand were fine and smart watches are okay for now, so I guess a regular digital should be fine too right? Also, Summer registration through Pima is open for anyone who hasn't registered for classes already! I went with HCA 100, FSN 154, and PSY 230 (may drop if ASU gives me my stats course from Canada, still waiting). I'm all set to move by the end of the month and just hoping I can get in for a physical to get it over with before leaving. Right now, my PCP is only taking phone visit appointments through the website unfortunately. I managed to land a job with Banner UMC in their MOSU unit so if anything I'll be able to get health insurance and get things done through them. If anyone is looking, TMC seems to not have any CNA/PCT openings right now and Banner has very few at the moment, not sure with other hospitals or long term care.

I signed up two days ago and didn't get a confirmation either. They don't seem to give out confirmation emails for things ?

Yup! Just said recieved. With financial aid, we'll just have to work with what's best for the situation. I already have 35k in federal loans from my first bachelors so I'm willing to take out what I need to finish this now and work to pay it off as soon as possible since I'm so done with school LOL For Celeste, I don't have kids unless you want to count a little budgie and hopefully another bird or dog in a few months ?

Yeah, but that may have been because I sent my contract that Friday right after receiving the acceptance email ? If you also sent it Friday, you'll most likely get an email sometime today

My hospital in WA still hire ADNs but also prefer BSNs. Seattle may be a different story though. At some point hosptials may transition to BSN only, but that won't be for a long awhile at this point. I feel like if getting a BSN is important to you, Cactuslover, then you should go with the CEP and apply for more loans. I think it depends on the location and specialty you want to work in, but I've heard ADN and BSN have similar starting wages while BSNs probably do have more potential to increase over time easier like Celeste has heard. ADNs would have to take online classes while working to get their BSN, that's what some nurses I'm working with are doing while full time. My hospital requires nurses with ADNs to get their BSN within 5 years of hire I believe. Definitely shop around the rates for private loans and/or see if your parents are willing to apply for the PLUS loan for you if that's an option. My parents are covering for my brother so I'll be focusing on what's left of my federal loans and looking at Sallie Mae for now. Got confirmation they recieved my contract! I accidentally sent both contracts but they figured out I wanted to enroll in the CEP at least LOL

I agree with Sbrown and Cactuslover, if you applied for multiple its just asking you to commit to one. Also, I get nervous will all these types of contracts too LOL. Doesn't hurt to sign all of them since there's only two and they'll let us know if we didn't need to sign both anyways ?

I think as long as you get into CEP you get into both programs but you have to choose which you'd rather be in I think? Congratulations everyone! The wait was finally worth it ? Once covid is under control we party ?

OMG they went until the final hour of the final day of the week ? I got in too!! I'm shaking and so relieved ahhhh

Thanks for the info! Is there a specific reason they preferred TMC to UMC? Honestly, we will get an answer eventually. Amanda supported it being sometime this week and while campus is closed I'm sure staff are also working from home.

Gosh, Whole Foods/grocery stores might be more hectic than a hospital right now! I hope work has been lenient with hours since you have bronchitis. Even though I havent heard much about how Tucson is doing, I wouldn't want to be around people just as a precaution. I wish you a speedy recovery! And not a surgic tech, but a CNA for now. It's more of a med-surg floor even though its designated Surgical Acute. I work nights and things are mostly business as usual, just plenty of Flu A patients coming and going. I just got my license reciprocity with AZ so when I move down I'll be applying to one of the hospitals depending on where I find a place.

Haha it's fine! I'm still in Washington and luckily I dont live too close to Seattle where more cases have been popping up. Things seem to be okay so far, at least at the hospital I work at. We've closed off visitors unless a patient is end of life or for labor and delivery. I'm on a surgical floor so I'm not expecting to be in contact with anyone that could be infected unless our only negative air flow room is needed.

It was because my credits are coming from Washington and the transcript I sent previously to ASU were inconsistent with the transcript I gave to Pima. They just wanted a confirmation about taking certain classes and to ask me to send ASU an updated transcript when I could. Even with the differences (they sent ASU my transcript from before I finished A&P 2 and ENGL 102 while Pima had my full transcript), they also just let me know I was still eligible as a candidate for the CEP program. No need to worry about ASU calling unless something weird comes up with your application!
