Thanks for saying that that does make me feel better. We’ll all be newbies but we’ll get through it. I heard from my aunt who’s a nurse that you meet lifelong friends during nursing school since you’re all going through it together and it’s challenging. I’m excited for friends

Okay, I see, that makes sense. Is there a way to view your app in the email that you sent to double check? That’s cool that you went to an international nal school, what made you want to do that and how was your experience??

I’m at 86 self calculated points. I applied to both Pima ADN and ASU CEP. This is my first time applying. I’ve moved closer to campus to a smaller place and quit my full time “big girl job” and found a part time one with benefits (thankfully!) so I can have enough time for studying and still afford to like...live lol. I tried to set myself up with as few obstacles as possible. I feel pretty good about it! TBH though, I don’t have any healthcare experience so idk if I’m more nervous that I won’t or that I will get in! I’ve been in and out of school for almost 8 years now because I kept changing my mind for a long time. I always came back to nursing though, so I know it’s the right choice. I know a few people that are applying that a quite a bit younger than me and have healthcare experience, so I feel a little behind and anxious but I know that it’s a good program that will adequately prepare me. It’s just hard to shake those feelings haha

Did you see your unofficial transcript? Did it have the degree on it? I’m confused by “posted”, because I only had mine listed on my transcript but that’s it?

I just keep painting this little picture for myself.. Our applications are already sitting in an “accepted” pile and the selection process is almost done. They’ll finish up Friday and then take the weekend off, and send out emails on Monday. I’ve already done the hard work and I should try to just enjoy myself and be proud that I’ve taken a big step towards Nursing school. They have plenty of apps to go through, and it’s probably a good thing that it’s taking a while because they are being thorough and giving everyone’s app the time and respect it deserves. Idk, I give myself little pep talks and it help makes the wait easier for me lol

Working and trying to organize an A&P binder! I figure I’ll use it all the time and it’ll be good reference. If anyone has tips I’d love to hear them! wbu?

Have you already taken stats? If not, I would recommend taking it at Pima instead of ASU for the lower tuition. I haven’t taken it yet and will end up doing it this summer. I wanted to do it this semester but.. wanted to take a break from classes more

That’s awesome! I know that some jobs even outside of healthcare offer various types of assistance/reimbursement.

I have a friend who works with NW hospital and she said that they have tuition assistance. I saw that you were asking about jobs in town and that might help? I don’t recall the exact amount, but that’s what she’ll be doing and she’s working per diem 1x/week

I don’t think it’s cumulative GPA either, I think the only thing involving grades is the bio, math, and writing classes. The only other “criteria” type of thing that I heard is that if there are 2 applicants that have the exact scores and everything and only one can get in that they look at when you applied and give it to whoever applied first. I heard that from a friend though, not an advisor, so I’m not 100% sure. Good luck though! And welcome to the chat! I think we’re all a little anxious haha

Where do you work? Are you able to get any financial assistance from your employer? Additionally, I would definitely apply for scholarships! I know ASU has some (I’m enrolled currently with them) and also on mypima you can fill out some info for scholarships too, it’s on the finance page!

Hmm, I’m not sure? I haven’t heard that but I hope not! Hopefully it’s just the 4 classes on the point system doc they have

I’m referring to the points that you get for your grades in the WRT, MAT, and BIO classes, so not necessarily your GPA, just that you get more points for higher grades. I think they’re worth like 36 points total? Since the application is worth a possible 100 points I’ve just been thinking of them as percentages. Sorry for the confusion, nothing to be nervous about! I think you mentioned you got all As in those classes, yes?

Please share whatever she says! Also I think they’re like 80-90? I think that they are usually 100 total but hold seats for their LPN-RN bridge applicants. I think they also reserve some seats specifically for CEP applicants too? I could be mistaken though.

Pima CC CEP Application Feb 2020

Wow 92 points!! You’ll get in for sure this round! How many did you have last cycle that you applied? When I checked online it looks like just ASU for the 2/1 deadline but I guess if they accepted the packet then maybe NAU too?? Yeah I’m getting anxious! I know it’s waaaaay too early but I can’t help to check my email and hope a little lol
