Piedmont Residency Fall 2016

Published

Does anyone know when the applications for Piedmonts residency for Fall 2016 will open? Also, does anyone know the usual timeline for applying to interviews to offers?

I have not heard anything.

For me the Piedmont idea and returning to Atlanta is over for now. I just got 3 offers up here in NC and they all want an answer pretty quick. Don't feel I can turn them down to wait and hope on Piedmont.

Hope you all get word soon and get jobs in all your preferred places.

I had my interview today with the CICU & CVICU managers. They informed me that I was the first person they interviewed. It was tough. I think that the best way is to prepare yourself, and really understand the unit you want to be on. They will ask you unit-sensitive scenario questions, which were my weakest points during the interview process. Wish you all the best of luck! It gets hard, but if you really want it... do everything in your power to be prepared.

I had no idea they were doing interviews already. When did you apply and what was your application process like?

I sent you a message

I cannot reply to your message @K1048. I haven't been a member long enough and haven't posted enough, so it won't allow me to reply.

Basically, the recruiter came to our school to introduce the RN Residency program. She told us that the application would open that night. I applied a few days later, and got a call for an interview maybe a week or two later. Nothing was super extraordinary about my resume, except my senior practicum being on an ICU unit.

Another person I know from my class also got called for an interview maybe a week after me.

A recruiter came to our school too and I applied and have not heard back. Nothing is extraordinary except, like you, I work in and am doing my practicum in the ICU. What did you indicate for areas you were interested in?

That is weird because your message came through and it let me reply. What school are you graduating from?

I only indicated my interest in ICU.

To be honest, I doubt I'll get the position. They are very competitive when it comes to hiring new grads in the ICU, especially CVICU. Unless you have prior experience in CVICU or know everything about the CVICU practices, it can be difficult to be successful on the interview. They asked very specific questions.

Well maybe you did get the job! I am hoping they will contact me soon! Good luck with everything and thank you for helping me out!

Thank you!! We shall see in time. I hope that they will contact you soon too. From my experience, recruiters are very busy, and they are constantly contacting people. I would keep an open mind, and just e-mail the recruiter asking about the status of your application.

I have a friend who graduated a few years ago and works in the CVICU and she said they really only hire students who did their practicum on their unit. I'm sure there may be exceptions, but for the most part she said that's the case

oh wow, I wonder if their other ICUs are like that as well?
