  1. As a current student, I’m sorry you feel that way but also I’m not sorry that you are out here posting the clinical questions they asked you. Integrity, honesty and emotional intelligence are something this program values very highly. You can know the answer to every clinical question in the world but for someone who has yet to step foot in the OR and stand at the head of the bed I think you’re wrong in saying that they didn’t “assess your ability to be successful in the program”. You’ll quickly learn anesthesia school is not about who makes the best grades, you have to be emotionally intelligent and critically think at a higher level than you can even imagine. Your resume got you an interview but the interview is what got you into school, therefore why would they care to ask about where you worked or what you did? That in no way assess your ability to be successful. Best of luck wherever you end up. For anyone that is interested, no we are not “just a number”. This program can allow this amount of students because we have a vast array of clinical sites for placement instead of having 3-5 hospitals. I encourage anyone still interviewing or interested to reach out and ask whatever you want to know and not just take things for face value.
  2. This school is such a joke when I interviewed a few years ago... they have clear favoritism for local people (Especially those that worked in the UNC system) and disregard experience and your interview. It's like they already have it made up who they are letting in before the interview... Take your money elsewhere..
  3. Apply and go for it! Don't worry about what other people think or measure yourself against them as it doesn't get you anywhere. My one suggestion though is to throughly look at what schools you want to apply to. You can easily research items schools don't post on their website and find what they are really looking for. For example if you find that a school you want to apply to really looks at GPA and everyone getting interviews has 3.5 or above maybe don't waste your time. I had high GPA but I was in your boat where I only had 1.5 years experience in a level one CTICu as well. You will get interviews no doubt but the interview is what gets you into the program!
  4. I'm not exactly sure how many have been accepted but I have been accepted and will be attending. As far as the GRE, you submit it to USF and not Nursing CAS. Best of luck with everything!
  5. I often found myself asking this question before I decided to apply and I will tell you this: Getting into to CRNA school is not only about your stats and where you work. It really depends on what schools you are looking at. It is very true that some programs operate on a name basis and will admit local people over any out of state applicant. Some schools care more about your GRE over anything else. Some schools really favor experience over stats. My advice to you is look up each individual school you want to apply to and do your research or even call them and ask what they look for in applicants. It would be in your best interest to not only apply to one school. I will say that almost every school prefers your GPA to at least be above a 3.3. All in all, do not leave any reason for a school to not grant you an interview; do well in your undergrad courses, do at least average on the GRE ( I did not so well and still got into every school I interviewed at minus one school) and get the best possible ICU experience and understand what you are doing! Best of luck!
  6. Good luck to those that have not heard yet and live in NC! You should get your letter today!
  7. My question is has anyone received an actual rejection letter yet?
  8. Well that's nice to know. I will say I was told today that the remaining letters were mailed today so if you haven't heard, your letter was mailed today.
  9. I told myself the same exact thing but I know of a couple of other people that have not heard yet either and I know their stats and there is no way they were denied and not even waitlisted
  10. Who knows, some of us have not heard anything yet still
  11. Has anyone else still not heard anything?
  12. I give up still no letter today. I've emailed and called and nobody has responded.
