Does anyone know when the applications for Piedmonts residency for Fall 2016 will open? Also, does anyone know the usual timeline for applying to interviews to offers?

Hi there! I applied for Fall 2015 and first noticed the jobs go up in late September and early October. I applied a couple of days later, and interviewed a week later.

Are you sure you applied for Fall? That sounds like the March Residency

You're right, sorry. Didn't realize you were talking about the start dates. I think those came out closer to May, at least that's when they were posted last year. The hiring and interview process is the same though. I know people that applied for those as well.

Does Piedmont generally just do 2 start dates (Aug and March) a year?

I want to move back to Atlanta when I finish school in May but the hospital where I live now will make offers (if I get one) in April/May. Seems like Piedmont apps will not even be open by the time I need to say yea or Nay to other offers.

I think they had some start dates that were different last year (some were November). It may just depend on what they are hiring for. I do know that there is plenty of time between the application opening and the actual start date. You could always apply and see what they offer you, and then compare it to the offer from the hospital where you live (if Piedmont's openings are up). I guess you could always just see which hospital has more pros/cons for you, and then decide what's best for you in the long run based on that. Hope that helps.

Piedmont is one of the last of the area hospitals to open applications for their residency, so you may end up in a position of not knowing when other hospitals have already made offers. My suggestion would be to decide where you truly want to work and dedicate yourself to obtaining that goal.

I wish life was that easy.

My wife especially wants to leave where we are living at the moment so coming back to the ATL would be better. Our move would be dependent on me having a job but I know spots are really competitive down there. I also will only have an ADN so that already puts me a smidge behind. I just feel I cannot risk turning down a job in the hopes that I can get one a few months later. I have read to many stories of new grads looking for work after 9 months. I guess I will cross both bridges when I get to them. Might just have to get a little experience in this neck of the woods then try and move back to Atlanta at that point.

There are plenty of hospitals that hire ADN nurses. Don't let that stop you. I worried about that a lot, but still ended up with offers. Hope you end up where you want to be :)

Not sure if you saw this or are still interested, but Piedmont opened their fall residency. :)

Do you know how long it typically is until they start contacting people?

Thanks for the lookout futurenursey2015.

I had seen it and actually applied last night.

Now just gotta wait and hope I can get a call back. If the stars all align they will call me before my spring break on March 7th so I can arrange to drive down to the ATL for an interview on spring break.
