I heard the going rate for working in a physician's office is $13hr. Any thoughts on that?

Well, I wouldn't work for that. However, most physician's offices around here don't even use RNs, they only use LPNs and MAs, so it doesn't really matter in my case.

I do not know of any offices that hier nurses. They have Certified Medical Assistants. I went to school for a year to be a medical assistant and am certifed by the state in clinical work.(I am currently going back to school though). I have over three years of experience and I only make 9/hr and I am making more than others in my job because I am currently on call, which is a big help to them, and me for when summer breaks roll around. I just do not see why an office would need a nurse, don't waste your skills...

Down here in Floirda I've heard about $15 an hour for RNs in offices. I know that some do only hire LPNs and MAs, however many also hire RNs but there might only be one in a whole office or maybe a couple in a large practice, especially OB/GYN offices. Generally the pay is a lot less, but you get the benefit of, no nights, weekends and Holidays so it's all about what you value most.

I made around $22 in the last office I worked in (2 years ago) as an RN but I was not just your typical "office nurse". I made rounds and did alot of telephone triage. I think it all depends on what experiance you have and how the Dr is utilizing your skills.

That's not enough bucks to justify making up and doing my hair for.....Not many nurses in doc's offices around here...No-one wears name tags anymore so you never know.........
