Wow-PTs make $10-15 more than RNs? That is crazy. I am not saying PTs are over paid more like RNs are way under paid and under valued.
that is very true. nurses are way underpaid. i think pt's are valuble but not as much as RNs. we should be paid more :icon_roll

For those of you responding saying that the PT's are making much more than the RN's .... What are the educational requirements of the PT's? and of the RN's?

PTs have a minimum education at the masters level. Maybe a PT doesn't respond in a code, but you can't say they don't save lives. Their work with stroke pts. alone can be life-saving.
I agree that nurses are undervalued, but I get a little cheesed off at the idea that other disciplines don't deserve to make more than nurses. I would expect nurses to make more if they entered the profession with a masters.

I believe PT's have a master's degree and then internship. I've been told 6 six years to be a PT.

I know in the Uk that PT's are very highly trained and have to study as much anatomy as a doctor

My favorite PT has a PhD. That is worth more in my book. Good PTs are extremely important for the patients' long term well being.
