Published

I just wanted to know what exactly does the physical test include...and did everybody have to take a physical test before taking nursing classes because I'm going to be attending a junior college and they said its a requirement.

Warehouse Nurses That's A Funny One

WAREHOUSE NURSES!!!! LOL! I know we have to have one also...I called my dr. yesterday to ask how much would it be..since my husband decided to take a new job the week before I got my acceptance letter..that you have to wait 90 days for insurance....They said the physical itself would be $300...not including the blood work...Hep. B series of 3 shots...$70 each!!!! Yeah where is the loan!!!!!!!!!!!! I also have to have proof of health insurance by the first day of orientation...I have to pay $142.00 to get it and then $104.00 for two months until my husbands insurance comes into effect in Oct. Not including having to pay for drug testing, background check...etc.!!!! But, I will not comlain because I am so blessed to have received a spot!

tb you have to get every year. Hep B shot is given in three different shots, so you may have to get it again depending on if you had all three or not.

Can you get these done at your regular dr.'s office? Most insurance pays for a yearly physical, so if you havn't had yours it should be covered.

I got mine done at my doctor's office.

I think that if you can show proof of your TB tests, and proof of your immunity to HBV you are in the clear. Otherwise you will have to get a titer for HBV and another TB test. That is what I had to do.

I have a question

I also had a PPD done and was negative.it was done by my Dr's office.

my school claims that I will need a second PPD done by the school! but I had a BCG at birth coz I was borm abroad so...is it safe to have all this tests since I am already immune to TB???? is this going to affect me in any way??

thanks.

You can get the PPD done even having had a BCG vaccine. There is no contraindication. If the vaccine has truly immunized you, your test should be negative.

For those of you needing vaccines, titers, and physical exams, contact your local public health department. They can usually do the vaccines at little or no cost and point you in the direction for low cost titers and exams.

Hep B shots should cost less at your local health dept.

Reading this post reminds me I need to put a call in to my md to schedule my school physical!

I would also recommend the health dept. for shots. There was about a 2 yr period where the health insurance we had didn't cover immunizations and my kiddos were little...so we did not have them do them at the well-child checkups (they were like $70/ea).

At the health dept the same vax's were like $3 or $4 each.

Good luck!

YEP!!! I recently had one done...$150 Big Ones..lol..I didnt know that the varicella shot was so expensive. I have to take the MMR shot and my 2nd Varicella this week... I need a loan!!!!lol:uhoh3:
