Just wanna bang my head against a wall. :banghead:

Kid gets hurt last week (out of school). Returns to school, and there is no contact from parent. Kid goes to PE class and gets hit square in the nose.

The same nose that was FRACTURED last week.

Did anyone tell me? Nooooo!

Did kid tell anyone? Yesssss!

Who might they have told?

The PE Teacher, that is who. So the teacher, in absence of a note/restrictions allowed student to play and guess who nose got whacked and needed to see ENT yesterday?

Yup, you heard right!!!!!

Why, when they send everyone to me for anything else in the world, would they let a student with a reported fractured nose, participate in a HS PE class without making sure it was ok????

I am so ready for vacation.

Ah. parents and notes. I do attendance and I started a direct email system this year after I threw away a 12" stack of notes last year. I have sent out several reminders and they still keep coming. They are hard to track, hard to file and just a pain in general. Kids forget to hand them in, or they get lost in transit. Send me an email, I can search by name or date if there is a question and I can answer your question within a minute. Rant over, thanks.

There is way too much of that - crappy communication - ok, in this case, NO communication - in our crazy world. Hang on 'til vacation...

My 7th grade Social Studies teacher used to say even an idiot learns after 7 times. Let's hope the PE teacher is a faster learner.

Maybe said PE teacher has suffered too many concussions himself...

I used to send out a "refill reminder" on medications that were near empty.

Yeah, they never made it to the parents. They would stay wadded up in the bottom of the book bag. So now I email or call. So much for teaching responsibility.

That sucks, the PE teacher definitely should have known better. I feel like the real blame ultimately lies with the parents. They should have let you know about something that important. I can't tell you how many times a kid will come in with crutches or a knee brace, with no documentation and no communication from the parents. I even had a girl say she had a seizure over the weekend (no known history) Do you think the school got a call??? Nope!
