PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

I applied for lpn

Awesome. Best of luck to you. Do you know how many people applied and how many people are getting accepted.

I dont remember who was the "list keeper" but can we get an updated one? We are in the home stretch yall! :)

So here's the updated list. I've been super busy with micro, as everyone can imagine, and haven't really had the chance to mess with this much. Everyone let me know if I forgot you!

As for when we'll hear about acceptance/denial, I think Chilly is right that the end of July is the worst case scenario. It's better for them to say that and get them out early than to say they'll be there on the 15th and then have them be late. End of July also keeps worried nursing hopefuls from calling them at all hours of the day, lol.

My 20th Birthday is on the 24th so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll find out before then!

RN composite scoring formula:

The first steps is to take your pre-req GPA and multiply by 25 then multiply that by .45.

The second step is to divide your TEAS by 2.

The third step is to add 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident.

Add your scores and that is your composite.

Example:

GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45

TEAS 80/2=40

Resident +5

45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program

I just talked to Nancy in the Nursing office at West Campus. She said letters would be going out this week.

W need to start an accepted list as soon as letters start arriving. Don't forget LPN hopefuls.

Although I did not apply for rn I do have all prerequisites finished. 79 composite score. I just applied for lpn I was afraid it wasn't high enough. I need to improve teas score for bridge. Anyone else in my shoes? I finished bridge pre req's including microbiology in the spring, so hopefully as soon as lpn is finished I can bridge.

Now I'm really getting nervous:eek: Good luck to everyone!

I applied for rn generic not lpn. Though my score is the lowest :(

This week?! Can't wait! woohoo!!

Looks great thanks Corey!

The anxiety has just now set in!!! Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!! I hope we all get in!!
