PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the nursing program is on the same schedule as far as days off and winter break?

So since Ill be starting in August for the LPN program, will I finish the LPN program in the summer? Then I could be eligible to start RN transition in August?

When I did the LPN program I was admitted in Fall and ended after summer term. SEVERAL students from my class moved immediately into the transition program because they either already had the pre-reqs or took them during LPN. If you communicate with the program directors they will do their best to make sure all is aligned for you to take your boards before Transition begins in fall but you MUST have your LPN license to start classes for transition.

What shoes does everyone have or plan on purchasing? I'm thinking just a plain white athletic shoe from Walmart or Payless...

I ordered Sketchers for work woman's white clogs

Better check with nursing department . Last year they told us no clogs.

Yes that is what I was told by nursing instructor

the last message is for lapin

I received me no offer letter as well :(

I read the handbook and it says nothing about clogs not being allowed. They are leather as required and the soles are rubber. I'll just wait and see what is said. They also look just like the ones sold at the college bookstore.

OH im sorry. As long as they have backs on them. They just told us nothi ng with open back.

That's ok!! I appreciate any and all advice! lol

I'm not sure what shoes to buy yet, I think I am going to wait until after orientation to see what they say. I haven't even purchased uniforms yet, haha.
