PHSC 2017 Fall Nursing

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have decided to create a new thread for the ones that are going to apply to the ASN program at Pasco-Hernando State College. Hopefully we can share information and give some emotional support to each other :)

I was reading in the previous thread about their score system that works based on TEAS score + GPA + County residency.

My Pre-req GPA is 3.7 and I am in county resident.

I haven't take my TEAS test yet, but will post the results as soon as I have it and hopefully I will have some chance!

Is there anyone in the same boat?

Hey I have a 3.0 goal and got a 76 on my teas and I'm a Hernando county resident i applied for the transitioning program I think my composite is a 76.75 hopefully I get in and good luck to everyone!

That's good. This is just speculation of course, but I think your chances are high if your composite is around 76 range, (if you're applying for LPN-RN transition). Last year the average range for transition students was around 72. I think the competition is slightly more steep for generic RN students. I'm just going based on numbers.

Right. The acceptance letters will be mailed out the last week of May, according to the acknowledgement letter.

Wow! So we'll know in like 2-3 weeks!!!

I heard that they're doing it different this year. They're trying to get the acceptance letters out before LPN applications start. Someone who talked to the head of admissions said that we should know around Mayy 22nd if we're accepted. It's so confusing & nerve racking!! I was told from a normal employee from admissions that we should know the middle of June... so I'm so lost!!

I was referring to the letter they sent me saying they received my application. That would be awesome if we found out we were accepted within a week! :)

I got a 62% on my TEAS and applying for LPN program and I am a resident. Anybody else applying to LPN in June?

So when do we know for sure? If we get accepted into nursing ....

It seems like a lot of schools are doing things slightly different this year making it hard to know exactly when we will receive responses. I know USF and HCC have also changed the deadline of applications this year, previous years their deadlines had been in March.

Yes, PHSC use to have a deadline of May 30th, but now it was changed today to May 8th. Also, LPN was changed to June this year at PHSC.

When I dropped my application off I was told the first to be notified are the ones who are accepted, and that should be the first week of June. If you are not accepted you will also be notified but not until after the acceptance letters go out.

I was going to apply to HCC, but they require AP2 as a requirement and I'm taking that this summer (after the cut off date). If I don't get into PHSC maybe in the spring I'll apply again to PHSC and also HCC.

Yes, they require more pre-reqs than PHSC, but you only need to PASS the TEAS test to apply.

I have been working on those pre-reqs for so long that I already completed an A.A and B.S!!! :lol2: LOL

You are right about applying next semester for both, in case you don't get into this one.

Are you applying to the generic RN? what's your composite scores?
