Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in new york

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I wasn't going to do this, but oh well, maybe it will make some part of my brain feel better or what not. Anyway

Has anyone applied or been apcepted to Phillips Beth Isreal School of Nursing in New York? I know of one other person who applied i think, but not sure if anyone else that hangs out here did.

It would be nice to start a support thread or something, and hopefully this won't get burried in cyber space.

Ok Guys Update!!

I did not get into Beth Israel...I was close..but no cigar!

But I think I did get into another school..which was my first choice because its a BSN program...

college of new rochelle sounds very promising to me, currently I am taking a pre-req ( a&p2), so they said they are deferring my acceptance until I finish those classes..but until then I still have an interview..so wish me luck!!!

YAY!!! Smooches!:specs::loveya:

congrats :yeah:and good luck!:redbeathe

I wonder, guys, what do you know or think about Pace University?? Thanks.

Hi Solvita,

In regards to Pace-the reputation for the nursing program is very good. I went to an open house for the nursing program.

The program is only taught at the Pleasantville Campus, which is north of White Plains. It took about an hour on the train one way, there is a shuttle bus that picks people up from the train station.

Second, the program is a 3 year program. I asked if there was a way to complete it faster, but there isn't. I also believe, you will want to check, once you start you have to take all Nursing courses at their school.

Good news, they do evaluate your credits on an individual basis and I think that they will accept a "C" as a passing grade.

Hope this helps some. :twocents:

Thanks a lot , studygirl, my friend decided to go to that place, I did not have a chance to question her about the Pace University. It's really a surprise for me that the program is 3 y. long. Also, some other a friend of mine applied to LIU and got accepted to accelerated program (3 semester program). However, you have to be prepared that the program will be very intense. You will be busy from the early morning till the late evening doing clinical and attending lectures afterwards. An that would be your life on daily bases. I know that LIU students who take NCLEX test for the first time have a passing rate above 90 percent. I hope the information would help someone to decide where to apply. I, myself, applied to LICHSON and Adelfy University and received a letter of acceptance from LICH for the evening program. At the same time I'm waiting for the results of the NET test . It's my second chance for the NET.

what do you need the NET for, solvita?

For Adelphi University.

Hey I'm new to this site. I also applied to Beth Israel and got waitlisted. When I handed in the form I was told that only 6 of the 15 on the waiting list still wanted to be considered (That was on June 20th). Beth israel was also my first choice.

Hi everyone. I took the NLN sometime in the begining of March.. got interviewed end of March, they told me I was to find out the results second week of April. waited. then they emailed me saying they put my application on hold because they need to see Spring '08 grades since I was attending classes at another college still. BI was and still is my firsy choice but it seems they are giving me the roundarounds. There's nothing worse than getting a 'maybe' as an answer...I'd prefer they tell me 'yes' or even a 'no' so at least I can plan my next move...I already accepted St. Vincent and had to give a deposit, will be starting night program in January but I'm still holding on to the possibility of getting a 'yes' from BI...good luck to all!

Why everyone is so quite here? Ho got accepted? Ho got rejected or put on a waiting list?

Anyone wait listed got any response from the school yet? this waiting is killing me, I'm tired of bugging Ms. Gallo!

Ms. Gallo told me last week that the deadline for student deposits was Thurs. (7/3). She said that there are no seats available unless someone decided not to put in there deposit. At this point I'm starting to think no one has declined their spot. I actually accepted a seat at Queensboro CC already (6/24), which from what I hear is also a great choice.

I also applied to Lichson for the fall and went on an interview. I haven't recieved a letter yet but spoke with admissions office and they said I was on the waiting list. Is anyone still waiting for a letter? Does anyone know how long Lichson's waiting list is? ANyone that applied and got in or wait listed, please tell me what you got on the nln and your gpa, just wanna see where I am at. Thankssssss!

Hey guys since the beginning of my application process I have been monitoring this website. Thank G-d, like literally, got into Phillips Beth Israel. But this whole summer all I can think about is the A&P and Micro classes. Time after time I hear how horrible it is and everyone fails, how immposible the teacher is and it just feels like I am going into a lion cage and setting myself up for failure. Its causing me severe stress and we havent even started. How bad is it? Any chance of passing? Any advice?
