Hello all prospective nurses!
I am curious to know if there is anyone who has applied to Beth Israel for the upcoming Fall 2014 start date. I delivered my completed application on Friday the 28th and so I guess now all I do is wait and see. From past posts I know people sometimes wait until June to know if they are accepted or not. Hopefully we can get a good thread going here and can compare nln scores and share any information that we hear from the school. I hope to talk to some people that are in the same boat as me soon!
Hi Purple_dot,
It was more like a conversation than an interview. They asked things like what is a word that describes a nurse, why become a nurse and why now, and tell us about yourself...they were really pretty basic and wanted to get a chance to really get to know you better. Don't sweat it!
Hello Everyone,
This is my first time posting on AN, but I have been waiting anxiously with the rest of you and reading previous posts. I didn't think I would've gotten in. I was once pre-med and life caused my med school dreams to slip away so I was so nervous. I had already been rejected from a program upstate. But I'm happily announcing that I, too, will be joining you guys this fall!! I am in the traditional program and look forward to getting to know all of my future study buddies (study groups WORK...so don't be shy to study with me lol). I have questions about the health assesment, immunization, tox screen, PDA...
When do we have to do all of these things? Does anyone know? I'd like to get it over with asap t avoid mishaps and enjoy my last free summer lol. And who is actually getting the PDA? I read a lot of alum posts saying they never needed it...I'm not sure how their grades were lol.
I'm being long winded...CONGRATS
Hi tZunami2,
First off, Congrats!! Welcome to AN! I haven't heard anything about when we have to get our immunizations, and all that jazz, in by. I have been stalking the mail though. I am also a huge fan of the study groups, makes it easier and definitely more fun! I heard the same thing about people not using the PDA, I have an iPhone and was given some hints on apps that are useful. I guess we shall see what the school really requires from us.
Thank you BklynEmt! You eased SOME of my fear, I am just so nervous. All of you guys have received your acceptance e-mails already and all this waiting is driving me nuts. Does anyone know if they are perhaps interviewing for more positions than are open? I know I've read that if you get the interview you're pretty much in, I wonder if that still holds true. Anyone applied for evening entrance for 2015??
I don't think that they send out all the acceptances at once because not everyone accepted will pay the deposit to hold their seat. So I think they do it in sections. They may have sent 50 acceptance emails the first round and only 30 paid the deposit ..so then they'll look at those who interviewed later. Don't be too nervous. Also if you call them they might be able to give you an answer right then and there. Good luck you you!!
Purple_dot, from what I am seeing it looks like it holds true. Seems like everyone I have spoken to that had interviewed, has been accepted. Just breathe...I know it sounds tough right now, but you will do fine. Just answer the interview questions honestly, it seems like they are looking to learn about us. They want to get to know you. You will see, after introducing yourself to the interviewer, it's really relaxed. You will be fine, good luck.

Sorry I haven't been able to reply to y'all...took my final midterms..and submitted a bunch of research papers.
Karpas Institute module is a course during summer offered to refresh your memory. Thought a little revision wouldn't hurt; been a long time since I've taken my last basic science course anyway. Think I'm going to also go over some anatomy and micro notes during the course period too...force myself some discipline to avoid being lazy over the summer :)
Happy Spring Break guys :)
Everyone deserves a good rest lols
Oh uh stephieL:
The refresher course is free of charge I think...Generously donated my someone.
