Hello all prospective nurses!
I am curious to know if there is anyone who has applied to Beth Israel for the upcoming Fall 2014 start date. I delivered my completed application on Friday the 28th and so I guess now all I do is wait and see. From past posts I know people sometimes wait until June to know if they are accepted or not. Hopefully we can get a good thread going here and can compare nln scores and share any information that we hear from the school. I hope to talk to some people that are in the same boat as me soon!
Hi all! I had my interview on the March 19th as well. I'm sure I met several of you! Good luck to you all.
I think the interview process went well, but it's up in the air! I have no clue. There were 9 of us as previously mentioned. Everyone was nice and dressed up. I felt under-dressed in casual work clothes but I think it was fine. We were interviewed by an alum (3 in a group)-which was cool but I was hoping we talked to the staff more. The Assistant Dean came around and said hello and gave us a card if we had questions. I understand however how busy they must be to interview 150 people! I'm counting down the days until they make the decision. April 9th can't come sooner.
What program are people applying for? I applied ATOP or eve. I would love to do ATOP but not sure how to fit into my schedule
Hi dlaffin09. I don't actually know there are 150 people interview. I've been lurking around allnurses for years through my app process and have read a lot on these boards. I have read that Beth Israel accepts about 150 each year (about 50 people in each program, Regular day, ATOP and Evening). I have no idea how many people applied or are to be interviewed. In previous years others wrote that if you get an interview then more than likely you are accepted (minus any personality issues). However, this may be the experience of those active on allnurses. I read that in the past, the interview was basic and that the staff member interviewing primarily just shared info about the program with the prospective student. My experience this year was that it as a real interview with real questions. I am just speculating. It appears they are doing things VERY differently this year. So who knows? Maybe they are interviewing a lot more people than spots.
Hey everyone, my interview was scheduled last friday @ 4pm. Boy, am I glad it is over...
It's weird how they do grouped interviews this year, I am almost losing certainty, the likelihood of acceptance upon being called for an interview. As Kasha said though, they might be taking in more interviewees than seats available. Who knows. The admission committee will be meeting on the 6th, so we'll know for sure by the 8th. oh my goodness...the anticipation for the results are so painful, it feels like I'm waiting to hear whether I am being selected to receive the last pill existing on earth that is known to cure cancer. I don't know.
I have 3 exams and 2 papers due next week, so they will keep me busy...its the sleep I'm worried about...lols I'm awake almost every night thinking about this. I really need to start getting efficient sleep, for my health sake.
Hope everyone's not going through what I'm going though. lols
Good luck on those interviews, have faith and have a triumphant week everyone.
Hey guys, congratulations to everyone who has gotten an interview so far! I'm a bit worried as my application wasn't completed until the 20th of March when I took my NLN. Nervous to see that the interview process has already started. I got a 145 composite score on the NLN (98%), but a really shaky GPA in high school and college (around a 2.5). There were extenuating circumstances in my life that made it difficult for me to really apply myself in school, which I explained in my essay. I also had some good letters of recommendation from previous employers (doctors) and professors, and I have some good healthcare experience working in an ER for 2 years as a scribe. I also became a registered EMT. Just wanted to test the water and see what you guys think my chances are seeing how the interview process has already started. Did I submit my application too late to really get a fair chance? Any way thanks and again congrats to everyone who's made it far enough to get an interview!
