Hello all prospective nurses!
I am curious to know if there is anyone who has applied to Beth Israel for the upcoming Fall 2014 start date. I delivered my completed application on Friday the 28th and so I guess now all I do is wait and see. From past posts I know people sometimes wait until June to know if they are accepted or not. Hopefully we can get a good thread going here and can compare nln scores and share any information that we hear from the school. I hope to talk to some people that are in the same boat as me soon!
No not at all. I just deduced that since this RN-BSN program is new they would want to fill it. At my interview they told me that after the first year that the bsn program can get accredited, and the students that get accepted into the RN program automatically get accepted into the BSN. So I believe that they extended the RN one to fill up the spots and get the best candidates. Im not sure really but i believe that it has something to do with the BSN program
@[COLOR=#666666]BklynEMT thanks! and I think the study group idea is awesome! @cellen, I'm also wondering about he RN-BSN, since when I was interview, my interviewer was really excited about the new BSN degree and the way she mentioned it seems like we would be able to obtain a BS degree instead of an associate, but when I check online it seem like there is another application.
Yes that is exactly it. If you have all the prerequisites done and have a bachelors than you can apply to an Accelerated BSN program (1-2 years) but those are very competitive. I personally think 3 years is a decent amount of time to obtain ones bsn. it will take some time but it will be well worth it.
also we wont be getting anything in the mail from pbisn, I emailed them and they told me that everything, i.e. health assessment, background check, uniform fitting will all be through email. so check your inbox not your mailbox lol :)
Lols thank you Celen. I agree, I was thinking of going for accelerated nursing, but courses like med surg and patho arent meant to be taken over the winter & summer semesters...better to give yourself enough time to let the info really sink in and become a part of you. After all, nursing is gonna be our life...our basis and foundation shouldn't be prepared with a crash course...btw has anyone filed their FASFA?
Just got this reply from PBISN:
(PBISN in italics- plain text is me)
The RN-BSN program is for those who are already RNs (took the NCLEX but graduated with an AAS). The School does not offer an accelerated one.
thanks! so no way of combining the RN-BSN? you finish one and apply to the next, yes?
Yes, after you graduate, take the NCLEX and become an RN then you may do the RN-BSN

See what works for you, there are plenty of different ones (both different styles and different prices). And it's one of those things that you put down just for a second and it seems to grow legs. Lol :)
