Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....
Super easy - just make sure you have all your papers in order. The folks at the desk weren't super helpful - mainly bc they were super busy & the phone rings off the hook. I answered everything as employee (student nurse), employer (school of nursing). There were a few things you could leave blank though - like the type of respirator. The fit test was kinda funny ... they make you read this random paragraph about rainbows!
DO rub your arm after the tetorifice shot if you get one ... I forgot and now it hurts 10x more than yesterday, ugh.
thanks sk! in the document that was labeled prospective nursing student i think it said that to minimize duplicate blood work you could send copies of the immunization records. otherwise i'm pretty sure they would draw everything right then and there because otherwise you woudnt be cleared. for the sake of not having to repeat blood work i got copies from my PCP too...
thanks for the tip kem! i think i'm going to have to get the tetorifice shot bc i last got mine in 2000....=/ did you mail your assessment before your appt?
Nope, I didn't mail it in. I was short on time between when I got the forms and went in for the appointment. I just brought everything in and that was fine. Just went today - TB is negative but both my arms are KILLING me from the tetorifice and Hep B ... ugh so I'm glad I have a wedding tomorrow. The bride is going to love me!
