Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....
Hi everyone. I wish I had discovered this site a few months ago. It seems like you all have a really nice community going on here. I'm interviewing at BI on Thursday and thinking anxiously about the future. Any older prospective students here (I'm 43-yikes!) I was also wondering if anyone knows how much tuition is at BI for the three-year program. I see the two-year is about $30,000.
Don't know about the alphabetical order thing. All I was told was to call or email this week to check on the admission committee's progress. If not this week, the woman that interviewed me said I should hear by next week. She did say the admissions committee did not get to go through all the files last meeting so they have to finish those and then start on the new files of people who were just interviewed. Being in limbo stinks. Some people on here have said they were told to call bak on June 15th. I wasn't told that either. Who knows. It's finals week so I have to give up obsessing for this week. I can start up again next week.
What's today Starlette? Sorry - I'm new here. Are you having another interview? I'm interviewing Thursday for the three-year program (unless they think I'd do ok in another spot, I guess.) My last name starts with a C. I'm not sure how that fits in with the alphabet theory. Getting nervous!
Sarah,
The admissions committee is meeting again today. Don't get nervous. It seems the process takes a while. They review the files of those that have already had an interview and choose who will get called for their first interview. If you were called for an interview don't stress. You're more than half way there. I think the only way they would not take you is if you totally lied on your application, are a crazy person, or you said something really stupid which will not happen. I believe the whole reason for the interview is to get to know the person behind the application. The Dean told me on Friday that my file will go back to the committee with all of my answers to the questions she asked so now they can see what type of person I am and not just what grades I am capable of getting.
Btw, good luck on your interview. You'll do great! All of the people are so nice. After the interview you're going to want to go there so bad. They make you feel so welcome. I can't wait until we all find out.

I'm signed up for Ethics in summer. The Dean instructed me to finish that and micro so I could go into the ATOP program and I am doing exactly what she says. She told me it would look really good to the committee if they saw that I was completing these courses. Whatever I have to do to get into this school-I will do it. It is an awesome program.
