Phillips Beth Israel Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....

That's great that you're flexible! I'm stuck with evening as my only choice, which has me biting my fingernails. One of the amazing things about PBISN is the way they really try to make it work for you. Like, they truly support every student and want to see them succeed.

Hahah, have a drink for me too! we're practicallly there!!!

I'll have 2 for you and 5 for me, lol! That is they way the came across at the open house, like they really want you to succeed. I am so excited I can't stand it. I'm hoping they tell me that famous quote, "I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be accepted", oh boy do I hope. In that case I'm having 6 drinks! :lol2:

From what I've heard they are very flexible also. You'll get the program you want. Everything will work out fine. We've come this far so God obviously has a plan for us.

haha! yes!!!*wine

i got the, "you're a strong candidate and we'd be delighted to have you here." but really, i'm not getting my hopes up at all until June, when we all flood the school with emails and phone calls (or, if you're me, showing up in person on your lunch break, lol!)

did you pick an outfit?

well said! we should all be very proud! and I think that the way you got them to look again and realize what a strong candidate you are is really inspiring! you're going to rock it today!:D

I hope so. I'm wearing black dress pants, teal colored shirt, casual but business looking. Low heels cause I don't wanna trip, lol, like someone mentioned on here. And I'm not waering perfume either, lol. Not everyone's taste is the same and I would hate for them to remember how yucky I smelled if they don't like it. :lol2:

Wine it is. Pino Grigio here I come!!!*wine

Your outfit sounds cute! And definitely a good idea on the perfume. My interview was in a small room, and if I had worn perfume, I'm sure it would have saturated the air, lol!

You're going to do great!!! :) For all those wondering about FAFSA, uniforms etc. I just got my acceptance packet and it came super fast. It's got the welcome letter, uniform order form, and financial aid/scholarship/loan info. The post mark was the 11th, so they had it in the mail the very next day after their meeting. So exciting!!! :w00t:

@Kem: that's great news!!! you must be so thrilled to have it all in hand! and it's good to know it will be mailed out quickly... after the month waiting for the next committee meeting, lol!

:yeah:

anashenwrath,

Did you get a business card from someone there? I've read on this thread that some got a card with a number to call to get info on acceptance. Don't worry, you may not have to wait the month. Your package may come earlier! ;)

Congrats Kem!! You must be on cloud nine! The feeling of knowing exactly where you're going to be in the Fall must be great. Hope I get that feeling soon too!

yep, I did get a card; and I'm betting you will too! And BS said exactly that: I could call on the 15th and they would let me know the results. but paranoia runs deep in me, so I know that I will feel better once I have a physical letter in hand! but I'm happy that there are others playing the waiting game with me, lol!
