Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....
welll ppl from older posted have same that the regular prog has around 100+ seats, and night + atop has around 40 each... i might have made up a few of those figures but im pretty sure its close.. so if thats the case, thats good,
but also, im sure aside from those that are being interviewed, the ppl that interviewed in like late march, have received their letters?
@ Jules78 - I applied to BI , St Paul's (formerly St. Vincents), Adelphi Univ. and Molloy College. I was going to apply to Westchester CC but after my experience with the admissions lady I actually took my application and money order off her desk and walked out. LOL I was accepted to BI & St. Pauls, withdrew my app from Adelphi and will be withdrawing my app from Molloy. I just haven't had te chance to fax Molloy yet but I knew if I got into BI that's where I was going for sure.
Hi everyone!
Just had my interview and got the same thing about waiting until 6/15. Luckily financial aid is extended (one of my worries when I heard that 6/1 deadline)! And they don't look at aid until all applicants are accepted, so you will be given the same weight as someone who was accepted months ago.
BS mentioned that they've accepted about 40 applicants so far (for all programs I guess), and the evening program (the one I applied to) caps at 25. She also said that they're trying to change the second interview for accelerated/evening program applicants, since it was a logistic nightmare. It would be so nice to not have to go back in. As it was, this interview ran me from 9:30 to 11:30!
For those that care, I wore a "casual" matching skirt and jacket, flats, and a dark gray pearl necklace. Nails were manicured and buff pink, hair was in a bun, makeup was super light.
and now we play... the waiting game!

Jayzelena! That's so exciting! What a great turn around. You must be thrilled. There's a few posts on the most recent pages with what to wear. The folks there are all in bus. casual. It's so true, he really will put you where you're supposed to be. I applied to 4 schools and less than a week before my BI interview I'd all but crossed the other 3 off my list. BI was always my top choice but when it became the only school I was still 100% motivated to go to I kept hoping they wanted me too! :)
For starlette926, my last name starts with a "B". This is the first I'm hearing of them going in alphabetical order. When I met with them they mentioned how many applicants had some college. I don't recall but I think it's like 50% have "some college" and 20% have "some graduate school". But, they did say that they still get some outstanding candidates straight from HS and some without any college but all that life experience. It sounds like it's going to be a great group of people!
