PHCC spring 2012 RN acceptance letters?

Published

:yeah:Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the RN program for PHCC Spring 2012????

I have been turned down from PHCC 4 times, and 1 time got picked as an alternate, but never recieved a call. I was accepted to the new Rasmussen (October 3rd 2011) I was already to start and they threw me a sucker punch. Basically they wanted more money from me, so they were not going to accept all of my credits and wanted me to come up with $6400.00 before starting... I do not think so.

If I again do not get in I will apply to USF's BSN program, I have already been accepted to USF. So I guess I will try that route?

You've been turned down from phcc with those stats??? Or did you retake classes/TEAS test to get your new stats? Do you live in Hernando/Hillsborough? Sorry for all the questions...im baffled and now extremely nervous!!!!

I live in Pasco County, but I have a Spring Hill mailing address.

Turned down 3 times with the same GPA (never have retaken any classes) my TEAS version 3/4 was an 83.

Turned down on the last go around with new TEAS score of 87... So I have been at this for awhile. But I did hear that the last go around only had 24 seats, 12 of which were promised to the hosiptal, which only left 12 for the 200+ people who applied. I heard this go around there is 48 spots... not sure if any are promised to the hospitals?

wow. that is crazy! I did hear that the teas V was much more difficult so it's good that you did better. From what i've heard, there is 48 seats available but haven't heard anything about any seats guaranteed for hospitals?!?! this is the first i've ever heard of it!

I know that it is true, my friend is in the RN program right now because of Bayonet Point hospital.

Yeah version 5 was more difficult, but i was only taking 1 class during the time I was studying for it so I really could concentrate on the test, whereas before I was taking multiple classes to finish up my AA, not leaving a lot of time to study.

just had my daughter check the mail... nothing from PHCC yet again! UGG...

was your friend an LPN? I know that phcc has a program (not sure how new it is) that is an lpn-rn bridge program. so maybe that is why there are more seats available?! I know its 48 seats that are available now...24 to each campus. keeping my fingers crossed!

PS---where are my other allnurses/mailman stalkers?!?! Maza... justletgo...?? You both are making me look verrrrry pathetic! LOL.

She is a LPN and is in the bridge program... so maybe? I may need to investigate that more...

I wonder how many people applied this go around for these 48 seats.

Well at least we have inside info now! I'm really worried about it... If I don't get in then I guess I will apply somewhere else or retake micro apps. If I retook it, that would bring me up to a 3.8. Never thought much of the mail carrier until now!

Maza,

Where else would you apply? Just curious? Every other school is so far away from me, that is so frustrating in itself.

@jenny - Believe me when I say I check this board at least 5 times a day! It's making me crazy! It's weird to discuss this with my wife because she just doesn't understand it!

millsypoo---yea, maybe that is the program you are referring to. I dont know much about the program but, from what i've been told, its a different program all together and is shorter than the generic RN program. So, i believe that this program is specifically for people like us! :)

Maza---About time we have some inside info right?? I decided the same thing, I will retake Intro to Psych (got a B 10 years ago!) and also take ethics that way my gpa is brought up and ill have all gen ed classes complete (does anyone know if this makes a difference or not? I know in some schools it does but have never heard of anyone mention it on here before). Its just so frustrating. And I, too, have never cared about the mail lady before now! LOL
