PHCC spring 2012 RN acceptance letters?

Published

:yeah:Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the RN program for PHCC Spring 2012????

Welcome Shay!! Glad to see we recruited more crazies like ourselves!! Jennymarie. your encounter today was insane. And btw, who decided there should be no mail on Sunday's anyway???? lol

I disagree about the competitiveness. I think that it helps to really make people strive to get in and try beyond what they believe to be their personal best. I think we should all suggest to PHCC that they have instant notification! Thank goodness I know there will be no mail passing today so I'm not running out there in the rain! Maybe this coming week will bring an end to our insane antics!

BTW welcome Shay!

No mail today AND no mail tomorrow! Seriously....i just need to know already! Maza- i think i definitely worded my statement wrong. I absolutely think that it should be a very selective process as this is a career that is not suitable for everyone. But, with our stats, we should not be worrying on whether we get in as i believe we have shown that we are fully capable of handling these classes. I also wish that they looked at something other then a standardized test and gpa. For example, for my master's degree program had an application process that was similar to nursing school except that they included a resume, personal statement, and interview. A couple of stats does not mean someone will make a good nurse. We are, clearly, all very passionate about becoming a nurse. In my undergraduate program, I had class with someone who had straight A's but showed absolutely ZERO compassion or any feelings whatsoever. I'd take a nurse with a 3.8 gpa who treated me like a human over a 4.0 who treated me like a "case".

When I initially turned in my appplication the woman siad that we should hear back by the 17th. Looking at the FAQS on the RN program on the PHCC website, the selection committee isn't supposed to meet until mid-October. What gives?

If you look at the threads from last year's spring cohort, they received their letters on oct 5th! I'm assuming theyre stating to us a "late-as-possible" date so they aren't bombarded with anxious people (like us! ;)). I expect we will be hearing back this week. I decided that if we haven't heard back by Friday, I'm making some phone calls! LOL. if anxiety gets the best of anyone, keep us informed!!! I will do the same. And, as always, GOOD LUCK and stay positive!!!!

Already checked the mail once today, lol! Hasn't come yet.

It's Columbus Day so no mail today! :p I dont know if that makes me more or less anxious but it does make for another day of wondering! :uhoh3:

I had no clue it was Columbus Day. Darn those postal workers and their holidays!

I have a good feeling about tomorrow's mail!!! And I did see that people got their letters in early october from last January. What takes so long anyway---

Alright guys....let me hear some good news from you!!! I'm stuck at work until 5!!! The anticipation is killing me!

Okay... so I've had enough let downs at the mail box and decided to call PHCC. The woman that I spoke to said the selection committee has not met yet so I honestly don't know when the letters will arrive.
