Hey guys just wondering who is applying for January. Deadlines are in a few weeks and no one had started a thread yet. I am applying for RN and LPN hoping to get in this time around.

Hi there... I just read your postings. I did apply on the last day @ 3:27pm. Took the TEAS earlier the same day and the testing center was packed with people taking the TEAS. I was told the Committee meets in mid October and notifications go out at the end of October.

Hi manr23! Mind sharing your scores? I really hope I get some kind of notice before November.

Hi everyone!

I have too have also applied for the2014 Spring RN program. I have been applying to the program the last three semesters Fall 2012, Spring 2013, Fall 2013 and I have applied to the Spring 2014. I have been denied for the RN program every time and I have a GPA of 3.3 and a TEAS of 70% (this was my best out of two attempts, first one got a 66% studying just the TEAS book and 70% a month later after looking into other ways to supplement the book). For Fall 2013, I applied to both the LPN and the RN program and was chosen for the LPN as an alternate, and then chosen for the program once someone did not accept the LPN seat. I did not take the LPN seat because I have completed all the coursework for the RN program and all that would be left for me to do is the Nursing program classes and clinicals. LPN route for me would be the scenic route to RN and RN is the straight path.

If not accepted this time around, I will be trying to take the TEAS test again before the next deadline for Fall 2014.

Good luck to everyone who has applied and best wishes!

Wow Erin I wish I was determined like you lol. I only applied for this path fall and then for spring 2014. I told myself if I don't get in I can't keep doing this. I'm getting married in 2 years I gotta get this show on the road. Hopefully I don't have to cross that bridge.

I applied for the spring 14 program with a 4.0 GPA and a 76.7 TEAS score. However, I'm not a resident...I know my scores are relatively competitive, but does anybody ever make the cut if they aren't a resident???? When I dropped off my application, the gal told me that we will receive confirmation letters in about two weeks (that they got the apps), and final decisions will be announced at the end of October. Seems like FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone :)

Hi and thanks for responding. I am married already and have two girls 5 and 3. My oldest goes to kindergarten and the youngest is home with me all day. I have been very fortunate to have a husband who wants to have me home and fulfill my dreams as much as I can. If I am not accepted this time like I said in the other post I will be retaking the TEAS along with applying for both programs. My youngest will be able to go to VPK so I will be able to take the classes for either program throughout the day with more ease than with having to put the youngest in daycare (cost wise its cheaper when she is 4 because VPK is fre). I am determined to do this because when I was having my second child I wanted to do what those nurses were doing, help bring life into this world. Also three months after I had surgery to have my gallbladder taken out and my nurses were accompanied by PHCC nursing students who were doing there clincals, so that was another boost towards doing this.

Sorry for all the backstory, but when you put your mind to it anything is possible.

surfergirl: county residency is counted as a percentage for your overall score they compile. Your score consists of TEAS, overall GPA, pre request GPA, and residency. Those who are residents receive 5 more percent if I am not mistaken.

hope this helps!

good luck

There is a formula (gpa/4.0)x45%+(teas score)x 50% and you can add 5% if your a resident. Your overall gpa is only used to break a tie.

so I just did mine ended up with 81 total points. They put all the stats into a computer and that's how the seats get chosen. I was told this by a handful of nurses that work with me that got their rn from phcc. But, as far as how many "points" we need, I have no idea! All depends on how many apps they got. So surfergirl4110 with your 4.0 your definitely competitive.

Thanks for the responses guys! erinb2008 - I'm a single mom trying to get through school so I completely know how you feel about being able to do something when you put your mind to it. This has been quite the journey for me. Feeling so close yet so far!!!! Can't wait to find out whether or not I've been accepted. I'm sure everyone is sharing the "waiting game" feeling.

I believe I read in the past thread for August start date that 110 applied. Anyone find out how many applied for this spring? I feel like it's taking forever for September to end lol

Just received my confirmation ofapplication letter today, my first time applying for the program. My scores are4.0 / 75% TEAS / and I am a resident of the Pasco. Hope it's enough. Good Luckeveryone!!!

I haven't received a confirmation letter yet :-/ This wait is the pits! Has anyone else received a letter???

Did you apply on the last day? You may want to call admissions and just check. I only recieved 2/3 of my confirmation letters. She was concerned so she sent me my third one and everything was fine.
