Any questions, concerns, comments, etc regarding Pasco-Hernando Community College's programs? This is your thread:nurse:
We have decided on a meeting time and place. Here are the details:
When: Saturday evening, July 17, 7pm til whenever.
Where: Brass Tap in Wiregrass
Why: Faces to usernames :) lol--Seriously, won't it be great to meet the people who have been stressing out with us for the past several months?

scrapworking, I got into the class on the 22nd :) I made the mistake of calling Oak Hill, not the Enrichment Center behind it! $20 is the best price I've heard. The only drawback is it's after work and we stay until 9 or 10 at night So I won't get home until 10 or 11 then have work in the AM! Working so far away really sucks. But I'm happy! Is anyone else feeling the crunch already?
Uhhhh yeah I feel like omg I have to get these titers done and I have the appointment for Tuesday but still I feel the pressure. I don't have any books because I'll just use my Pell instead of paying out of pocket even if I could get a better deal elsewhere. I don't have my stethoscope yet but I have to remind myself clinicals do not start until September and then I breathe again. I have to do the background check too. I paid a speeding ticket the other day because I don't want to have anything on my driver's license record. I just don't want any issues.
Then there is wanting to go on vacation to visit my family in NY right after orientation but before classes start August 23rd, so bascially I need to do everything in the next 9 days or so.....
I couldn't wait until tomorrow and am having a nice glass or two of Shiraz to calm me down tonight!
Yaz...no need for pressure. As I said above, titers normally take just a couple days. Stethoscopes can be purchased at any uniform store. See you tomorrow night. And, don't speed on your way there .
and after purchasing and reviewing the online course, you go to one of the sessions and perform the skills for the actual BLS card. The online class is through:
What do you guys think? Legit? I am going to email and hopefully get a response in early morning when normal people are awake...unlike me at 0230, lol. I'll let you know what the response is.
What's the deal with PHCC? Can't we go through the campus for certification? Ay ay ay. The pressure's on. Thank god there is beer later on tonight!
I have found a list of area providers, and have contacted a few via email. I will let you guys know what happens, and hopefully we can get this cert done and out of the way!
No one will accept an entirely online based course. If some of the videos or reading material are online, maybe. But, after staffing nurses for 2 1/2 years, no facility (and thus the college) ever accepts an online CPR card. Make sure it's in person!
Physical done on Weds my Bday (yeah here's $30.00 happy bday to me) labs were drawn Thurs AM. I have to wait for the lab results to come back to get the PPD since my provider has my stupid physical form and I won't get it back until 7/28.
No meeting up this weekend my youngest is still recovering from her tonsilectomy/adenoidectomy on Thurs. Poor little girl throat and ears hurting.
