I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!
Thanks so much, Rosey. I was just thinking of trying the same! Maybe things are just super unorganized because of the addition of Porter into the mix? This isn't the first program at Porter, though, I didn't think. Maybe they got an overwhelming number of apps or something too? The world may never know! ;-P
I don't believe Porter Campus is causing this delay because I'm quite positive that their first RN program was Spring. This is just the first Fall semester.
Just spoke to the nursing office at the West Campus and she told me that she is hoping that the letters get sent out within the next 2 weeks. she said admissions usually does it though. So i said so the letters are defnitely not sent out yet? and she said no they are not. So I guess we can all talk ourselves down from the hype and expect them the first week of July.
Af Wife- The program was a little disorganized. I dont remember waiting this long for my letter though. Once I got into the program, we had new professors and they didnt really see eye to eye, they were total opposites. We were constantly in the dark about stuff and we had to communicate with our classmates a lot to find out what was going on. It was a great experience, I think it was just that the professors were so overwhelmed with everything. They had a lot on their plates. It's a lot of fun though. Something you will never ever forget. You cant wait to finally graduate, but you kind of miss it once you do. Its frustrating because you feel like you wont know anything once you are out on your own and that the professors just dont give you the right answers to all of your questions sometimes. But I can tell you that I work for Oak Hill and my manager will hire a PHCC grad over a private grad anyday. I know a girl who is starting the RN program at Concorde the 30th of this month. She said she got RIGHT IN. She only has to pay 42,000$!!!!. So PHSC really is the best place to get accepted and graduate from. They turn out good nurses. So I think the good outweighs the bad in the case of PHSC.

I believe the only reason they would have to meet would be for tie breakers to review the individual when it gets close to the bottom of the list. That's only what I've heard and understand about this whole "committee meeting". I could be wrong.
