I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!
This is so frustrating. Literally my future is riding on this letter! You'd think they would maybe just be a bit more professional about the whole ordeal. What really makes me angry is the fact that some of the letters said mid-to-late JUNE while others said July. Just very evasive and disheartening. I need to go for a run to get out some of my frustration! Lol
Right? This lady seemed pretty confident that they hadn't met yet when I spoke with her, but perhaps you're right. Perhaps they're just instructed to say that so we stop harassing them My husband keeps telling me to stop worrying about things that are outside of my control but I just can't help myself! I have very little patience
I'm still going on what has happened every year. I believe this is a scripted response. Others have called in years past and been told that letters are going to be mailed to be "received by the first week of July" and received them two days later. It's scripted. If the committee doesn't meet until this week, they can't generate and mail and deliver in 7 days time. They only have one person generating the letters (I've talked to her ) However, I agree with Jupiter, think we are looking at Wed or Thursday at the earliest. Just my opinion of course.
If it's any consolation, SPC application deadline was May 15th and we won't hear from them until July 1st. So, us SPC students have been waiting almost 6 weeks since application close and have another week to go. This isn't working, is it?
Thanks so much, Rosey. I was just thinking of trying the same! Maybe things are just super unorganized because of the addition of Porter into the mix? This isn't the first program at Porter, though, I didn't think. Maybe they got an overwhelming number of apps or something too? The world may never know! ;-P
I think I will extend my patience until next Monday, but after that, freaking out on whichever poor soul PHSC routes me to will be free game! It will be worth this! (I HOPE!)
AFwife, you are in, that's for sure!! No worries on your shoulders so just prepare as such. Get your CPR, titers etc. and just wait for orientation notice
I know that fact I wish I knew how exactly the calculations were done to calculate actual scores.
The Transition application guidelines are ranked on TEAS and prerequisite GPA. The formula for that based on previous threads is:
TEAS score x 50%
GPA score x 45%
In county bonus 5%
So your score based on your information is:
.653*.5 = .33
(3.3/4)*.45 = .37
Pasco bonus = .05
Total score = 75
You are then ranked in comparison with the other students applying for your program and selection goes from there. Hope that helps!

What in the actual heck? This makes me not even want to attend this program...if they are really THIS unorganized I can't even begin to fathom how much of a cluster the program is going to be. I'm definitely investigating other options!
