I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!
Wow are you kidding me? Reading that makes me so upset! I hope it's not true. I know in previous years they said similar things and yet pretty much every time, they got their letters much sooner than that. One year, a girl called and was told they would get their letters in two weeks and yet they all received their letters the next day. So I realllllly hope that's the case for us.How ow long does it take to rank us all in order. A computer does it! Ughhhh!
Yes, I remember reading that from the 2012 fall hopefuls thread.
The way I figure is that they meet mid month (this week) and then letters go out a week later hence why many of the past thread received them the 3rd week of June.
I feel so crazy obsessing over it all....glad I'm not alone and in good company.
We also have 2 weekly quizzes and 5 critical thinking assignments.
Yeah - that class totally blows and my teacher is *so* picky. I almost think I'm in a comp class because you lose points on grammar and APA style issues. I'm really NOT liking this class at all and she takes forever to respond back to emails (5 days).
Blah.
Scarlet, that sounds like my Lifespan prof! She was a flipping headache to say the least. All of her tests were from an old text and she never bothered the update them, so it was impossible to score well on them. I spent a good several hours looking up the textbook references with exact page numbers to justify my answers that I was counted wrong for, but she rather than giving me credit, she simply changed it for our top 8 quizzes (rather than 12) to count...cool and everything, but none of us could get a decent grade to begin with on them! Thankfully with the INSANE amount of writing assignments we had things evened out though grade wise! Bleh. I strongly disliked that class though and for the first time EVER provided negative feedback on the "professor evaluations" that are sent out every semester.
Afwife - I remember you telling me you had a bad professor in that class. Sucks....did you manage to pull off an A in that class?
I'm more upset about her picking apart the discussion posts more than anything. I think of a discussion as a reflection of our thoughts at the topic at hand and she expects us to write it out like an essay with 400 words in APA style and a list of references. I mean, *****! You ask me what I think my parenting style will be like and why and I have to provide research to back up my opinion....I dont know, it ****** me off. Another thing is we have to respond to two class mates and god forbid your grammar isnt perfect you get points marked off for that too. I'm super annoyed
WOW, everyone is online and excited!
Hi everyone, specially ScarletJones! I was busy on the weekend getting ready for micro test and did not see your "Hello" couple of pages back!
I had to laugh when I saw the title you gave me: trusty advisor..lol
I'm just trying to share my experience that might help the new students. I know you're all excited, but I think the letters will not be out before next week. The deadline was June 2nd and usually it takes 1-2 weeks for the administration to go through all the applications, sort them out and get them ready for the committee meeting. That's why those who did not qualify got the letter of rejection. When the applications are ready then the committee will decide when to meet and it takes a few days after the meeting to prepare and actually send out the letters.
I hate to say that, but I do not believe you get the letters this week. maybe towards the end of next week.
I'm sure you all will get in, and then like me, after the first semester you'll ask yourself why you were so excited for getting in since you'll feel that was the easiest part, lol
Today I found out that couple of students did not pass the "Fundamentals" at west campus!
I suggest when you get in, try to get the books and start reading because it's a lot of reading and if you get familiar with the subjects, you'll probably do better during the semester. However do not read the whole Perry & Potter book, I can tell you what chapters you'll need to read. let me know if you need any info.
I wish we could get together for a coffee and get to know each other! I'm excited for you!
Good luck everyone!

See what I mean? You're our trusty adviser - always giving us behind the scenes tips and info. Love it! :)
Thank you!
You're probably right re letters but its so much more fun thinking there is a possibility this week - like I said, we are in the home stretch.
Do you think it matters which edition the Perry & Potter book needs to be? If I get it I plan on reading up ahead of time and I'll be asking you which chapters to start with but I want to wait for my green flag first.
A coffee date is definitely in our deck of cards
I'm curious - you said you moved here from another country...where are you from?
Anyone else have midterms this week!? I've got my proctored stats exam tomorrow morning! AH!
Meeeee! I have a proctored exam friday for A&P covering the lymphatic/immune system and respiratory system. I'm trying my best to to study and comprehend the material - insane amount of stuff to learn in only about 10 days.
Good luck with your stats exam. I'm dreading the day when I take stats because I am horrible with wordy formula problems - I have to put in so much more study time to get the hang of the material.

Same here...I really think its a generic response and it could be any day now although most likely this weekend or next week.
Mamabear - I'm also taking life span over the summer with SPC (along with A&P II). Would'nt it be freaky if we're in the same class? Are you taking it online with SPC?
